does anyone know what kind of transducer is in a 1993 330ec,and should it be replaced.

Are you experiencing problems with your readings? Why else would you want to replace it? We need more info.

yes,the depth and speed gauge read ----- tried re calibrating to no avail.

My guess is that your transducer is a thru-hull unit from the factory. In my limited experience with older installations, you will be forced to replace both the transducer and the receiver/display unit. Hopefully, the transducer is a standard size that can simply be replaced with a new version. Of course, that will require hauling the boat, but in my opinion is well worth it to maintain it's thru-hull position, as opposed to a transom mount. Sorry I can't be more model specific. A call to Sea Ray may be in order before crawling into the bilge.

Edit: Did a little bit of research. Looks like Sea Ray did have a factory installed option for a DataMarine depth/temp package on your boat. I would verify/confirm your receiver make/model number and call that manufacturer. You may get lucky and they will have a plug and play replacement for you.
