Travel Preparation

Need some advice. We are getting ready to transport our 510 from Huntinton Beach to lake mead. The trucking guy says we need to remove the redar array and sat dome. My questions are:

1. Are these Plug Play items that require cutting wires?

2. Can the asyemblies be simply unbolted and reinstalled?

Anyone have experience with this?

Plug and play

Both units should have screw lock cable connectors at the base or inside the mounts or bases. I know the sat tv does and I'm pretty sure the radar is not hard wired either.

Just make sure you place some tough plastic bags over the bases and duck tape these in place well. You just might want to have the boat shrink wrapped before shipment as thay will make your job on the other end all that much easier.

I also remember Frank Webster advising to have a boat shrink wrapped for transport to keep the diesel soot from the transport truck off the gelcoat. In fact there was a posting not too long ago where someone transported without shrink wrapping and they were having a problem trying to clean all the soot off the boat.
