Good evening,

Yesterday, I hit an unmarked underwater concrete enbankment with my 1994 Sea Ray 180 Signature Series. I glanced off the enbankment and took a 3 inch (length) by 1/8 inch (width) piece out of my prop. Since that issue, my prop will not come up 100%. It will come up only about 75%. Can anyone tell me what this may be and what it should take to repair it? I had planned on replacing the prop this week before I take it out again, but am uncertain of the severity of this issue. I just purchased this boat last year so I and a newbie boat owner.

Thanks

You need to report this to your ins. co right away. There is a good chance you have internal damage that could be VERY COSTLY !!! Ric

YES, YES, YES! Damage like this should be covered under your comprehensive - it's like hitting a deer in your car.

Could be bent rams, broken internal slides, among other things. Won't know tell you take a look or pull it apart.

Ahem, cough, cough... buy a chart, cough cough. :smt001
