I have a 2000 410 DA Sundancer and want to install a wash down pump with two outlets, one at the stern inside locker and one inside the anchor locker. I want to run a pex water line from stern to bow. Is there a conduit or chanel to bring this hose to bow or do I need to take inside of boat apart to do this.
Any info would be greatly appreciated

I'm surprised that 410DA doesn't have anchor washdown, but it could be due to the year model. I thought I've seen it on 2001s. Dom/Frank H., can you verify?

In any event, the project is much simpler than you think, except for securing the hose in the anchor locker. On 410DA it might be ok, but on Sott's 340 it'll be the same PITA as I had on my 320. The basic trick is to run it off the galley cold water line. I installed the "T" and ran the hose (I got the hose from WM) via port side all the way to the anchor locker.

If you click on the link by my sig. there's a pic. of my washdown.

Hope this helps.

P.S. I'm a little confused why you need a new installation in the stern locker as most cruisers have them from the factory. If my 240 and 320 have it, your 410 must have it as well.

Thanks for the replies.
maybe I should said that I want to install a new pump that will take it's raw water off the same line as the genny and will use the raw water to wash boat at anchor or mooring.
we are in fresh water and not salt water.
For some reason I was only thinking of running the line on Starboard side and not port side. :smt021

Thanks again

I would be cautioned with the approach of T-ing off the genny seacock. You always have to think of posible problem in the new line (cracked hose for whatever reason). This means that you have to kill the genny now by shutting the seacock. I would include dedicated seacock or a shut off for this line.

On the other hand, you might still consider feeding off your fresh water system (as I mentioned in my forst reply). You have a huge tank (if I recall 100gal). To rinse the anchor line you might use a gallon to rinse the boat you may use 5gal. This is minimal loss from 100gal.

Just a thought.

...bugs and crap off the boat. When you anchor out in the summer, it's amazing how many bugs there will be on the boat, especially if you leave the anchor light on overnight.

Highball, while it's a novel solution, I would not tap into the raw water inlet for the generator. Amongst other things, I'd be fearful of affecting the integrity of the hose, leading to a leak.

I've been toying with various different solutions over the past couple of years and hit on a simple one this year...a submersible sump pump. If you are out for a few days and want to wash down the boat, attach your hose, tie the pump off to a cleat and drop it into the water. Seemed to work like a charm this summer. I'll be watching to see if the pump burns out (i.e., there is no pressure shutoff on the pump), however so far no issues. If it does burn out, I'll chaulk it up as a $100 experiment.

I saw a system on a 60 foot boat. It put out what looked like fire hose rate. We get a lot of mud on the chain and we use the hose and fresh water to wash.We put 100 feet of chain on the bottom and the water off the freash water system does not have enough pressure to wash the chain 100% clean. I have thought of putting in a seperate pump and nozzle butit would be a lotof work I will stay with using 10 gallons of fresh water and a hose.

In these situations I used to take boat brush with telescopically retractable handle and clean the mud. But, ever since I installed the anchor washdown there was always enough pressure to clean the chain and the anchor. If you get a tough spot, you can always stop spraying and allow the pressure to build up again.

Thanks again for all your thought and ideas
i looked at the gen hookup because I don't want an other hole(Seacock) if possible. hate doing hoses in a boat especially when it's underwater. I want to take the web fitting off the strainer, install a T re-install the web fitting for the genny. At the other end of the T install a brass valve to isolate the pump line if I need to. At the marina they have well water and it leave water spots after washing. Often if we don't have time to wash the boat before leaving I could give it a good wash at the mooring. I would have plenty of time washing boat between a few cold ones
