Well Well,and Well.
Had the boat out for the final outing of the season. Weather here in Wisconsin was 85 degrees on Sunday with calm seas. Just when we were getting back to the harbor from our 40 mile cruise, BANG! we lost the port engine. I mean she starting knocking like my old 1957 chevy. Firt we smelt something like oil/rubber burning, the came the knocking only seconds after.

I guess it could have been worse, we could have blow the engine on the way out. Still had a great day on the water. Going to take off early today and assess the damage, didn't even want to look at it yesterday. To top it all off my Green Bay Packers lost to the Bears.

Oh Well!

Hope it's not as bad as it sounds...but it sounds bad...good luck.

thats dont sound too good.. hmmm sometimes its something simple like a sensor or sometimes its something worst.. hopefully its something simple.. the key is having the mechanic have the knowledge of exactly whats wrong without making an assumption that its something big, rip the engin apart to tell you it was not what he thought it was..

good luck with that!

As mentioned, I took off work early yesterday to check out the damage on the engine.
It was not as not anything major. The sound and smell was a exhaust hose blew a two inch
hole in it coming off the manifold. We changed all four hoses on port and starboard engines and we ready to go this weekend.

Hey, way to go Tom!

You were going to have to spend $6,000 to rebuild or re-power. You fixed the problem yourself with a few hoses.

Hey, now you can go on a vacation with the $6,000, Enjoy!

This is the exact type of math our government would use.
