Where's speedo pickup?

where's the speedo pickup in a alpha one gen II, my speedo on the 175 isn't working and if i separate it at the drive twist lock like when changing the impeller i can blow hard as I can back to the gauge and get 10mph, where does the speed get registered in the lower unit?

Speedo pickup? I'd say it's at the waterside bar.

My experience with outdrives is that there is a small hole in the front, bottom of the outdrive that may get clogged. Don't change the diameter of the hole, like with a drill bit or something, but try to clear that passage with something firm, but not too aggressive.
