Have found a 2006 with Cummins QSM 8.3 480hp what do you all think of these engine hearing nothing but good things
Probably because they are sleeved. I know the CTA's are can't speak for the QSC.When we did our survey, the engine tech said that the CTA and QSC are on top of the list as far as reliability. He also said something I was not aware of. The BTA and QSB (5.9) are not in-frame rebuildable. The CTA and QSC (8.3) are.
I currently am running the5.3 370 bta's in a 34 Luhrs and they have been bullet proof. Thanks for the helpI think those would be QSC's, they are the 8.3s. The QSMs are 11 liters, or litres if you prefer.
I have the QSCs, run great in a 48DA. I had the older mechanical 8.3s in a Tiara, never missed a beat. It's all about if they were maintained or not...
