Calling all 360 DA owners

I would be happy to take pix of the camper top and send to you. Email me at William.Fletcher @fmglobal.com, and then I will send yo the pix direct. I have to admit I am not crazy about the square back camper top appearance but the functionality is excellent with the added headroom. Just got back from spending the weekend aboard the boat and it was a big with my wife and teenage kids.

Bill...what did you find out on your survey? Did your generator need a new impeller? Has your boat had the aluminum manifolds replaced? Congrats on the new boat.

Getting ready for the boating season in Catawba Island, Ohio. We have already completed some major upgrades this winter including installing a new E-80 display and scanner, new flat screen TV in the master, and new cockpit carpet. I have one more item on my list and that is to install wood steps in the cabin. :smt038 Does anyone have an idea where these can be purchased? I will be taking some pics this weekend of all the mods to share with all.

Sounds good! looking forward to the pics.
A friend had a set of steps made. They were a perfect match to his interior, and were far better looking than wood "factory" steps I've seen. Might be worth looking into.

Jeff, re the survey, the manifolds and risers were determined to be cast iron and stainless. Not sure if these were replaced or original equipment. the gen ran for about 5 mins under load then we got an alarm and it was shut down. The mechanic is pretty sure it has to do with a temp sensor. this will be repaired by next week. Otherwise the engine and hull survey came out clean except for the prop shaft seals that need to be replaced.

Pibyc, how does a flat screen fit in the forward cabin? Pls post some pix when it is installed. Also, what size tv did you install?

I would like to see some pics of your TV upgrade. For your steps, you might check out fpmarine.com.

Great, Thanks Bill. Email sent!

I installed a 19" Samsung that fits like a glove. I will post pics this weekend.

Concerning the wood steps, I did check with fpmarine, but they are currently out of stock!

If anyone else has any idea where these wood steps can be found I would greatly appreciate any suggstions.

Andrew, your tv installs look great. Your exterior chrome is in better shape than mine. Good example of what salty air does verses a fresh water environment.

I would also be interested on info re the wood steps if anyone has that.

I have some upgrades that were easy including the LCD TV's. Please feel free to ask questions.

Here's the bracket I used. Just cut the board so that it is a snug fit. No vecro or latches needed!

I also put a TV in the cockpit and wired it through the stereo for SurroundSound.

Great pics. How did you fabricate the doo.r for your TV? Did you buy a piece of veneer for the front of the door? It looks like your hinges at the top. Is there a latck at the bottom? Have you replace the TV in the stateroom?

I actually found that piece of particle board in the boat yard. It has a black finish on the opposite side. Since the TV was larger than the opening, there was no need to put a veneer cover over the board. I measured the opening three times, and cut the board so that it would be a snug fit. Therefore, theres no need for a latch, because the door fits snug, not tight, into the opening. In addition, the hinges are at the top, so the weight of the TV works to keep it closed. Basically, the boat would have to nearly capsize for the TV to swing open. I did the TV in the stateroom the exact same way, with a black piece of starboard instead of the wood. Works great!

My boat is heading in the yard this Friday for bottom paint and replacement of shaft seals. figured we would get the underwater led lights installed while there. Going with the color blue. They are pricey but I sure like the watching the fish swim below when they are turned on. Anyone else do this on their 360?

Billfletcher, were your shaft seals leaking? I was curious as to how many hours I can expect to get out of the dripless packing/seals.

Yes, during the sea trial we did a few weeks ago the mechanic noticed this. They are mechanical seals, so my understanding is there should be no drips. Water was coming out in a steady stream from both at high rpm. My boat is an 03 with 240 hours, and these appear to be the original seals. Bill.

Thanks for the reply Billfletcher. I only have 169 hrs so i hope to get at least another season out of mine. I have also attached some photos of my recent upgrades including installation of a new 19" flat screen TV and a new E-80 on the dash.

Hello Fellow 360 owners! We finally took delivery of our new to us Sundancer 360 (2006) -- christened Kama Hele; watch for us on Tampa Bay and in the Keys. And of course, we're already planning our first round of upgrades: replacing the old Northstar 6000i chartplotter, new speakers, changing out all the drawer knobs below (salt air has taken their toll), and looking at a canvas camping enclosure for the back. (Just try sleeping one night in the Everglades without screening...no see 'ums and mesquites will bleed you dry in short order!)

I've only seen one other 360 diesel owner on the thread--HELLO out THERE--we were elated when we "stumbled" across this boat at the St. Pete boat show last Dec. While apparently very few 360s were made, and even fewer done with diesels, we couldn't be more pleased. We've had her out two weekends now, and we're recording fuel economy and best speeds at various RPMs and sea states etc. Of course, we haven't loaded her up yet either; by the time we add some dive tanks and weekend provisions, I'm sure all of our economy estimates will be less than meaningful.

Regardless, we'll keep people informed as we go...and BTW, we've just had our favorite diesel mechanic go over the engines and generator from stem to stern and he was very impressed. So knock on wood, we shouldn't be discussing any major engine work for a couple of years at least. Hopefully, our log entries will be focused on optional creature comforts and upgrades at least for a year or two....

Happy Cruising to all!
