310 Sundancer Thread (2007 & newer)

Stephen,

I have a 2007 310 DA and was also looking for something threaded that would fit in my pumpout and "mate" with the pumpout hose (for some reason, the standard valve doesn't fit on my boat, it's too big). So, are you saying this part you referenced (http://www.amazon.com/Banjo-Polypropylene-Groove-Fitting-Coupler/dp/B001GLUML4?tag=viglink21308-20) is the only part you need in order to connect the pumpout hose to the waste tank while the banjo valve is screwed into the side of the boat? would love to solve that problem! Thanks!

GG

So long as your pumpout facility is using typical 1.5" diameter cam/groove fittings, yes, the screw-in fitting that I linked to will mate with it and your deck fitting.

You will probably want to know whether their hose has a male or female c/g fitting so you can purchase the opposite to screw in to your deck fitting. I happen to carry both male/female primarily because I couldn't remember which our local pumpout used (and they're inexpensive).

Hope this helps/let me know if I can clarify...

The panels on the sides of my cockpit are starting to look bad, the speaker grill portions have black specs on the vinyl, I tried power washing them and it didn't make much difference. Has anyone else fixed this issue? What did you do? I was thinking maybe spraying it with white vinyl paint. I know some of the years had tan vinyl over the speakers mine is white.

Thanks,
Bryan

Hi Bryan-

Yes, I have the same issue. To clarify, my white vinyl (nontransparent) is looking ok. However, the large white sunbrella sections that cover the speaker areas is starting to show it's age. I saw a 2007 310 over the weekend with tan sunbrella speaker sections and it still looked "as new".

Long term, I am planning on either replacing the sections with color-coordinated starboard (no sunbrella) with holes for surface mounting the speakers (similar to current model year) or simply replacing the white sunbrella with a tan color.

The bigger problem I have is why did they put that white sunbrella fabric behind/near the cockpit grill?!? Ketchup/bbq sauce/food splatter don't play well with it...

I bought the style and color I wanted at WalMart and had a lady that does sewing on the side cut and fit them to my mattress. She charged $40.00, the bottom sheet is fitted and the other sheet and bed spreed is cut and seamed to fit. works great.

Spray 409 on both sides, wait a few minutes or more, gently clean with microfiber towel and rinse. All the black specs (mold and dirt) washed away on mine.

I'm looking for a dash cover but they do not make them for 2007. 2009 and above are listed and you need to provide a hullnumber to get the OEM setup. If anyone has a 2009 or newer 310 with dual controls (shifters on left and throttles on right), I can't imagine it wouldn't fit. The dash appears to be exactly the same but changes in 2010, then it goes to the 330 series and looks alike.

In short, I would like a factory looking dash cover for a 2007 310. Thanks

So a guy on the cape recommended I use Kaboom with bleach, it took all the mold specs out but there is some staining still there, I got a can of marine vinyl spray paint, color Sea Ray white, masked of the vinyl ad put down three very coats and it looks perfect.

I have invested too much money in my sound system to encapsulate the speakers behind painted grills.

Post a picture of the staining. Most likely you can lay them out in the sun and the stains will disappear, just depends on the source of the stain.

Jim, I like the covers because I have expensive speakers, and the mesh hides them. Mancave - As or the stains go they have been there the whole time I have had the boat but they seem to be getting darker. The painting worked perfect they look brand new again!

Sea Ray team,
After over three years boat-less, I'm about to close a deal on 2007 310 Dancer (V-Drives 350 MAGs FWC). Under 200 hrs.
Big difference from previous 05' 260 Dancer.
Awaiting final details after survey.
I have read every single post on this thread, wow!, that was a lot of info (Thanks!)
I'm sure I will have plenty of questions (NS100 replacement, Raymarine C80 and depth finder, upgrade TVs to HD, impeller replacement and maintenance on a tight space, etc).
Can't wait to get back on the water.

Boat name - still TBD.

Congratulations and welcome to the team!

I believe the source of the staining is my black cockpit cover rubbing against the speaker covers.

Excessive in my opinion. But then again I guess it depends on how they are charging you. Per hour labor with a minimum, plus a trip charge etc... You can buy an Attwood S750 automatic pump in the $60-$70 range each. Maybe less from some places online. You might want to buy two replacements of whatever brand and model bilge pump you have and do it yourself. They are not hard to replace. I would spend $500 to replace them.

Fellas is $500 reasonable to replace both bilge pumps?

They came with two 1700GPH pumps and float switches, so depending on exactly what they intend to replace them with it could be reasonable to charge $500. You need to know what brand, GPH, and will they have internal or external switches (floats).

A really good 2000GPH Rule could sell for 125 to 190 depending on the source and an external float switch 20..so double that and add some labor and you could be in the ballpark. You could get a 1700GPH Attwood for 100 each. Add switches, and you're looking at about 250 in labor...that seems high. Again, all about what's going into this setup.

You could buy them (obviously pick lowest source) and do it yourself, it's pretty straight forward.

I'm fairly handy (have replaced impellers, whole impeller housing, car transmissions, done some electrical work, etc). Was just wondering if I can do it myself with same pumps and save some $$ for other boat toys (and beverages).
However I have someone ready to do this work tomorrow for $500 for both pumps.

You can always beat the marina/boat dealers prices and save a ton by doing it yourself. I don't say that in a bad way, it's a business and they need to cover their expenses and overhead. I save my money by doing a majority of those tasks myself and leave the engine and stern drive work to the them (less the normal maintenance stuff).

You can easily save half of that $500 and buy quality high flow bilge pumps and float switches.

That's high.

My question is why are you replacing both bilge pumps? And what boat do you have?

Hopefully picking up tomorrow a 2007 310 Sundancer, Twin 350 MAGs, V-Drives.
The pumps did not come on during survey. Worse case scenario would be $500 (broker saying), however they are going to check if they are still working before replacing them.
I don't think it would be to hard of a job, but hard to explain to the wife.
