Water Pump Impeller Change Out:
Back on 3/8/10 thread #846 on this 320 site I did a write up to change the raw water pump impellers. It didn't bring back fond memories. lol

Sea Ray Mike,
I might be late to the party here but if you have a FWC system, meaning a heat exchanger tank, the heat exchanger tank can cause this exact problem and can usually be fixed by taking it off and flushing it out with muriatic acid or a soak at a good radiator shop. Broken pieces...
I put the DP2600 in a 380 Sundancer to replace the Nevercold and it is about 1.5 inches deeper. I made a wood trim spacer to fill the gap. It's a great frig, more cubic feet and really quiet.

Just remember being old beats the other alternative. Also, if you were 30 again you would receive NO social security money either, that account will be gone by then. lol
Congrats on your new boat.
I've been paying $20/ft on a survey, so $23/ft doesn't sound out of line. I should mention you will be paying for a short haul out too if the boat wasn't already checked out of the water. The $700 to do a compression check and computer down load does sound excessive. I think I paid about $250...
Most surveyors will have the sample kits available if you ask them to do it but there is an increase in cost to cover the lab fees to get them processed.

Dino,
I hit the reply button before I meant to tell you that there is a good 380 thread on the SportYachts/Yacht forum for the larger than 36' boats info. You really should read that and you'll get some good information on the model. I think the thread is about 95 pages now.

I would get the engines computer history downloaded to see how they were run and any problems that may have occurred. You might also want to take engine oil and antifreeze samples (including the generator), and transmission fluid samples. If the salon refrigerator is the original you are...
highlife34,
I went back to the beginning of this thread and saw that garmett had started it and just wanted to make sure you were having the same problem. It appears so, prior to taking the boat out for a cruise did you make sure the AC thru hull was open and also check to make sure the sea...

This is probably what you are looking for IF they are on your motors. I had a 30 Express from that era and I had trouble with the neutral safety start switches that I think were located on the transmission...
Molson,
I tried to send you a PM , but your mail box has exceeded it's capacity. Let me know when you have space and I'll send you some pros and cons on the 390 in a PM.

With out getting into every year and model of what you are looking for, let's keep it simple. For your $100K cap the most boat for the money will most likely be the 380 Sundancer and probably a 1999 to 2000 model year for that price, You'll pick up the most beam and room with it. They don't...
tab283,
Many years ago, I put a 10K AC/HT unit in a 270 Sundancer and made one large wood plenum box that I attached to the vertical bulkhead seperating the v-berth and the living space.
I can't remember the dimensions but I talked to an AC guy to make sure it would flow enough air to do the...
If you have the thru hull open and take the boat out for a cruise that will do it or you can put water in the AC water discharge fitting on the outside of the hull with a garden hose while you are at the dock. You said easy and these are, plus they usually work. If you have easy access to your...
