I have a 2002 Sundancer 300 and my starboard vent cover came off yesterday. I tied to another boat on that side and a bumper loosened it. I took the whole thing off and was shocked to see that it is apparently only held in place by epoxy. Is there a better method for remounting than just epoxy...
Last summer I needed a new transom assembly. It cost $3,850 for the transom assembly and $625 for labor.
$4,475 total
2002 Sundancer 300, Twin MerCruisers 5.0
Long Island, NY
I assume you mean the 115 version -- correct?
I'm not sure about it being connected to the starboard engine for the heat exchanger; I'll have to check on that. My boat does not have a generator.
I'm having my starboard engine removed and rebuilt. While it's out I'm going to replace my badly corroded hot water heater. I run in salt water (Great South Bay, NY) and don't want an aluminum HWH. I want one with a stainless steel tank. I'm considering a Isotemp SPA 25 Marine Water Heater - 6.5...
I'm also curious as to the role of the remote on the dashboard in the cockpit when you replace an XMD1 unit with something else (Clarion M508, Fusion) does it still function?
Thanks for your response. I had a 2006 Dancer which had an XMD3 and I took it out and connected an adapter to the rear and was able to use my iPod. But now on my 2002 Dancer I have an XMD1. I took it out (which wasn't easy, there's practically no length to the cables in back) and there's no Aux...
How "pain free" was this switch? I, too, have the Clarion XMD1 and want to upgrade because there's no way to connect an iPod or iPhone to this older unit.
I'm interested in replacing with the M508 and would like to do it myself.
Can I use the existing wiring/connectors in the boat with the...
I realize this post about ten years old but I'm looking at getting a zodiac for my 300 and would love to hear how other members have handled this. What's the best way carry/mount your tenders?
I did explore the dock spigot, making sure the water was on. As I connected it to the intake in the transom compartment, it was hard to get a good seal at first -- the water was leaking there -- it was obvious that the spigot to was supplying water through the hose.
I connected to dockside water yesterday and couldn't get any water to flow from the faucets on the boat.
What can cause this? Where is a blockage most likely?
I contacted Maretron and asked about a replacement for my starboard switch pad (2002 Sundancer 300).
Here's their reply:
Hi,
We do not have a direct replacement for this keypad.
Maretron / Carling products may have a system that would work, but the keypad or switch module would have to be...
What part number did you get and where did you get it?
I have a 2002 Sundancer 300 and it looks like I need to replace my starboard switch pad.
The FP Marine solution looks wonderful but $4,000 -- ouch!
