    Best bottom paint?

One of the shops that does a lot of bottom paint around here uses Monterey, but I've read (here & elsewhere) that it doesn't work all that great in fresh water at least. The Odessy Triton has more copper in it (along with ECONEA & zinc pyrithione), & it has a 2 year guarantee so I believe I will...

    Best bottom paint?

I recently down-sized & now have a 2001 SunDeck. It needs bottom paint. It spends most of the year in Pool 26 of the Mississippi river where algae grows within hours. A nearby marina quoted me a fair price for the job, but using SeaHawk Monterey paint. From my research, I believe Odyssey Triton...

    240 Sundeck stuck in gear

Sand most certainly was sucked up into the engine. Apparently it clogged the starboard riser & semi-clogged the port one. We were going about 14 mph when we hit. It stopped the boat dead & killed the engine. I trimmed the engine up as far as it would go (3/4, why not all the way I dunno)...

    240 Sundeck stuck in gear

Alpha drive. Got the boat out of the water & got the rear unit off. Cable is froze. Found both flapper valves. Notified ins. company & opened a claim. Got a boat mechanic on the job now. While the engine didn't overtemp, everything from the risers on back did. Melted a hole in the exhaust aft of...

    replacement grab handles

I ran into the same issue with my 2001 240. There are no replacements & they will not come clean with chemicals. I had to put a sanding drum on my dremel & abrade all the black spots off. They look great now, but the original (viened) texture is gone.

2006 Sea Ray 240 Sundeck - replace throttle trim switch

I just replaced this switch on my 2001 240. The switch was bad. Although it's moot, to access the wiring for the throttle trim switch, remove the speaker: there you will find the connector.

    240 Sundeck stuck in gear

Greeterings, I'm a FNG here. Boat is new to me. Over the Labor day weekend I ran it into a submerged sand bar (which didn't use to be there). Eventually got it off, engine ran fine, no vibrations. About 15 minutes later the engine made a shrill noise; cut power, lifted rear seat & saw blue...
