Did they stamp the new head serial number somewhere on the engine or elsewhere? I'm trying to figure out how I can tell if this boat had the heads changed out prior to being sold or by a prior owner. Not too many records from the past owners 2005-2019, just the current owner's records.

How do you know if the boat is propped correctly, is it by engine temp and GPH at cruise under load?

Mike, what have you learned about the 480ce dropped valve/head issue and does it apply to all of these engines or just certain ones with a particular head installed? I spoke to Cummins and they gave me the impression it was not applicable to all 480ce's. I just posted about it in the forum...
