Clean Hull, Potomac River, same setup My top end was 42.5, burning 36gph. I cruise around 26-28mph, burn 23-25gph.
My 290 comes up on plane pretty quick when its clean and calm, I rarely if ever use tabs. Visibility is good.
I'd wait it out where I boat. Too many turns to get to my slip in the marina, definately would get crosswind at some point and get pushed hard. Then again, not that many squalls on the northern Potomac

I have it all in and working, but went a little redneck on the sub.... I havent cut the hole yet, but wired up the enclosed Kicker and have it sitting on deck. When I grow a pair, I will cut the fiberglass and install the 12" sub :)...
