Is that a pretty big job replacing the fuel pump? I looked at replacing the one on my starboard engine at one time due to similar issues but I solved mine by cleaning a connector on the harness going to the pump.
Has anyone removed their Glomex and left it off? Mine is only good for leaking water into the arch between caulkings and being a PITA to put the winter cover over. Thinking about removing it and 3D printing some sort of cap to seal the hole.

I've had the same problem with mine for years but not at the breaking point of tearing it apart to fix it just yet. One method that I use to open ours easily from inside is to put your hand flat on the door and then apply upward pressure while opening. Hope this helps.
