Sold my Sea Ray 300 Sundancer and bought a 41 Silverton ACMY

Thanks Ron and all others for the kind remarks. Yes she truly is like a floating condo. The reason I bought her was that we enjoyed the 300DA so much last Summer and we always had friends who wanted to come down and hang out with us. The Sea Ray just was too small for all the entertaining we...

Sold my Sea Ray 300 Sundancer and bought a 41 Silverton ACMY

You could well be right Larry as I'm going off previous owners figures, not my actuals. When we sea trialed her however, she did get to cruising speed of 21 and yes we could be talking MPH not Knots

Sold my Sea Ray 300 Sundancer and bought a 41 Silverton ACMY

I believe she was repowered 5 years ago and for the last 3 years, my marina owner has been living on her with his wife and 3 dogs. During that time she was a floating home and never left the dock. Needless to say she is in the shop now having a complete interior refit. New sofa, new banquets...

Sold my Sea Ray 300 Sundancer and bought a 41 Silverton ACMY

LOL Yeah I agree but hope to have an all new hood ornament on the Silverton soon. She's a 91 model and this model remained unchanged till about 97 She has a 15 foot beam and a huge salon which drops down to the galley and dinette area. She has 2 staterooms and 2 heads and great size aft deck...

Sold my Sea Ray 300 Sundancer and bought a 41 Silverton ACMY

Well I decided after 1 season with the Sundancer to upgrade to a more livable style Motor Yacht. Actually got a GREAT deal on a 91 41 Silverton Aft Cabin Motor Yacht. This is quite a jump from a 30 foot sport cruiser to a 41 foot ACMY Thanks to all the great Sea Ray owners on here who were...

    Summer 2010 Pics...post 'em up!

Thats great Rod, Thank You and to be honest, I haven't really ventured many places yet other than Tices, Barneget Light and Mystery spot. Looking forward to AC trip and would love to explore some other cool spots to anchor up. I'm getting a little bored with Tices although my son LOVES Island...

    Summer 2010 Pics...post 'em up!

Yes Rod it was. Although there were few boats at Aquapalooza and very easy to tie up with, we decided to be nearer the deck so we could go to Island Beach State Park. Water was very flat and calm all day but it rained intensely for a couple of hours so we stayed in the cabin playing cards The...

    Ran aground!

Well from what your all saying it does sound like it was the Ujoint and thankfully I think I didnt cause any real damage. I was a little panicked to be stuck in sand and had to raise the drives to free up the boat I guess you learn something new every time JD

    Ran aground!

But I had to raise them to get them out of the sand no  and why only the knocking sound from the starboard side and not the port? It was my first experience of this so I guess I should have just raised them but not to trailer height?

    Ran aground!

I guess in Barnegat Bay you dont break your cherry until you've run aground, which is what I did on Saturday. With a boat load of people I tried to avoid a lot of boats but taking a wider route towards Tices, then in a split second I saw the depth go from 9 feet to 1.9 feet and suddenly the...
