    In the process of pulling and rebuilding my motor. The thunderbolt ignition seems cumbersome, and contains a lot of wiring. Can it be converted to a standard GM H.E.I. ignition system? I have a Mercruiser 5.7. Thanks for any help. Kevin

    Shifter

    I know I'm resurrecting an old thread. However, I have the quicksilver shifter pictured here, it has trim/tilt in the center of the shifter knob, and trailer up separate from shifter. My shifters seems really sloppy to put in neutral to fire up the motor. Is this a rebuild issue? And can I swap...

    Unfamiliar with a ping test. But, I did check the stringers, transom, and bulkheads prior to purchase. All seemed very solid. Once the motor is out the plan is to completely clean and degrease the bilge. Then repair any areas, and new fiberglass if needed. Had a few boats in the past that needed...
