Thanks for the replies and suggestions. I was fortunate to have a guy on the dock who is a very good mechanic look at the issue. He was able to pre and apply JB Weld High Heat to the area. There's enough mating surface to make a good seal. Gonna give it a try.
Good day all. Long story short, when changing out my manifolds and risers to cure an exhaust leak it was discovered that the "replaced" manifolds were never done as indicated when the boat was purchased. With that said, my motors are 2006 inboard 5.7 350 Horizons with approx. 500 hrs. Where the...
Thanks for the reply. Great tip with the wire hanger. I'll give it a try. Nothings off the table. From what I saw with my oil pressure gauges everything is in normal range. I'm gonna triple check that today.
Thanks for the reply. Wouldn't an arcing plug wire(s) cause the motor to run rough? The motor seems to be running smooth, no hesitation. I do have a spare set and will be replacing them anyway. Have to see how that works out.
Thanks for the reply. Ya, leaning in that direction. It's a bit cluttered (hoses, plug wires) and I've been trying to see as much as I can. Still looking.
Good day all. A problem has come up with one of my engines and I'm in the process of figuring out what's wrong and some input from everyone would be greatly appreciated. I have a 2006 Sea Ray Amberjack with 350 MPI Horizon motors, V drives (serial# range OW39000). There are approximately 525...
Good day all,
I have a 2006 Amberjack inboard with the MFD flush mounted on the dash. While seated at the helm the shifter levers obstruct the viewing of the screen. My question is, are there shorter ones available? Or is there a company that can fabricate or modify the shifter levers. I believe...
Hey guys, thanks for all the replies and information. Took the hard way, drilled off the tops of all the bolts, drill 1/8" pilot holes next to all the bolts on the deck, removed seat, drill 1" holes where the 1/8" pilot holes where, filled with epoxy, replaced fuel sender, 5200 old holes...
Thanks for your reply Lazy Daze. I'll take a look at other options. But I just don't understand, what were they thinking when the seats were installed LOL. Why bury the nuts so you can't get to them?
Good day all. I've committed myself to replacing both fuel sending units with the "stem" type. In order to have the clearance needed to install them I have to move both the helm and companion seats. I started on the companion seat and found that the screws are bolts. I was able to remove the...
Good day all. I have a 2006 Amberjack 290. When I first start the engines I get the most accurate reading on the fuel gauges (also has SmartCraft readings that reflect gauges). During operation the fuel levels will fluctuate on both gauges. Sometimes even going to empty and knowing that I have...
Thank you very much for your reply. I did find them and they are on order. I am in the northeast and it has been cold. But looking at the condition of the seals that came out, I'm not sure they had been changed out since day one. lol. Can't hurt putting new ones in and hopefully by the time they...
Good day everyone. I hope you are all well and safe. I have a 2006 Amberjack. After winterizing the freshwater system, the hot water feed from the pump and the two cold water feeds from the pump are leaking. I've tried to stop the leak by pulling out the rubber seals, cleaning them and even...
Thanks Jim G. However I just came in from working on it with a friend. The outcome is Sea Ray did a wonderful job securing the hoses. So good that they put zip hangers in locations with no access. My only choice is to abandon the old lines and find a new path. I ran some wires before from the...
