Good morning Hot Jambalaya, been there and done that, first yes replace the spark plugs, several years ago i started to have similar issues, and replaced the plugs and it cleared up. Now I replace them each spring or every one year depending upon the number of hours logged. The next thing you...
I noticed my stb rudder post area had water around it, I am familiar with stuffing boxes on prop staffs but didn't realize the Rudder shafts. Has anyone experienced this before? I purchase the packing gland thread and will be taking the boat out of the water next week for the season as i want to...
If you need to add throttle to get it to start it could be the Idle control unit, i had this issue last summer on Stb engine, needed to increase the throttle to get it to stay running than it was fine. the cost if i recall was$190 I have 8.1mercs
Matt did you find out what is wrong with your engine? I have just experienced the same with my stb engine, after replacing the heat exchangers, transmissions coolers last weekend while taking a ride up the river my stb engine water pressure alarm went off. I limped back to the dock, and replaced...
Check the high speed sensors, my next door neighbor has the same single engine and experience the same issue, his mechanic said it was the high speed sensor for the gas.
I think you should check your spark plug wires and make sure that all are attached, I had a similar issue with the port engine burning 2 to 3 gallons more at the same RPM, check the plugs and found two wires not fully attached to the spark plugs. simple to check Steve E
Mike, I have a 2004 34 Sundancer with 8.1 with 607 hours they have been great, after 18 years i just replaced the heat exchangers, and now the transmission coolers the oil coolers were replaced two years ago. the engines are workhorses, yes i do most of my own maintainence but if you keep after...
Does sound like a water sensor there is one on the manifold you could disconnect the wire first prior to swaping them out, last year i replaced my manifolds and the new sensors are plastic pieces of shit, i was lucky the mechanic saved the old brass one and i replaced it with that. my alarm went...
I purchased my 2004 34 brand new, it now has 535 hours on the engines, as for a annual maintenance list, I would start with spring prep.
1. Wash/wax hull two coats
2. I have always stored my boat with empty gas tanks so i filled them with fresh gas each spring usually 20 gallons of high test...
That cover is awesome, I have built a PVC frame and purchase a heavy tarp ever two years as the wind in the Northeast beats it up. do you mind what was the cost of the cover? and where did you purchase it from. thank you Steve E.
if you are talking about Gauge saver Eric is awesome, send my port gauge to him, it was fortunately a simple fix and he didn't even charge me. Would recommend him email unclebob@gaugesaver.com 904-701-9726
Hello, I am trying to find a replacement TV for my 2004 34 mid cabin TV, small unit 13 x15 I replaced it with a Polaroid back when analog was replaced but it died. I saw your thread did you ever get a new TV and if so which one? thank you Steve
Hello Fellow 34 Sundancer owners, my TV which is in the cabinet along the bulkhead on the port side, died. Need to find a replacement TV, that would fit in the same opening. Anyone know which make model i should purchase? thank you Steve
Fixed the problem since the risers and manifolds were just done in June, and all of the fluid levels are in OK range, i pulled the temp sensor on the manifold and the alarm shut off. I pulled the sensor and found that it was a plastic replacement the old ones were brass, I ordered a new one but...
