I'm on the 4th hose on my dock in that many years - actually 5, the marina leased out my slip when we were in the Bahamas and whoever was there took my dock lines and hose. The best hose I've had left marks on the boat and then the three Camco white NSF rated hoses have failed at the fittings or got bubbles and leaks. I need a hose that I can not only fill the water tank but drag across the decks to wash the boat. Forget the expanding hoses; I've had those also.
Recommendations?
Thanks!

I either have Camco or Apex (bought from West Marine). Used it for 3 years but only summers and we don't get the sun damage up in Michigan like Florida that eats rubber and plastic... Been there done that. Still miss it though.

I got a Camco (I think) blue potable water hose, said not to kink, It kinks. It's sturdy, though.

Our green rubber hose for washdown (probably from Ace Hardware or some such) is probably 15 years old, still going strong.

I have had this Apex for ~5 years now. It is 50' but my hose bib is in the middle of the finger pier. I leave it out year long and basically do not take care of it and just use it. No signs of wear or giving out. Our marina does have pressure regulator's that are around 40psi.

To your point the expanding hoses are absolute crap and I have never gotten more then a few months out of it.

I looked at Teknor Apex but the end fittings are aluminum and won't do well around here.

Take another look at that one. Mine are Brass and that is what shows in the pic.

Oh that’s the one I HAD. Until I saw it months later on another pier all farked up and moldy. Now I get the cheapest pos and replace every spring and July.

Moldy? If it is out in the sun in open air on the dock, don't see how it get moldy. Have had mine for five years and still going strong and I don't take care of it. It's still hanging on the pile right now.

zero G from Lowes. 50ft is about $50. It does not kink or mark the boat.

I've been using this Flexzilla for the last 3 years, and it's worked great. They have quite a few configurations.

I use the blue Camco drinking water hose for the city water into the boat. https://www.camco.net/hoses/camco-evoflex-25-foot-rv-marine-drinking-water-hose-22594. I'm very happy with it after 3 years. It stays flexible and doesn't get gunky. I have a 10' lead of that hose that I leave attached to my boat so I'm not disconnecting at the boat fitting. When we leave the dock, that comes with me. I have a 25' length that stays on the dock. I just disconnect the two when I leave, and reconnect the two when I come back. I'm never reaching into a hold or down on my hands and knees for anything.

I use one of those shrinking coil hoses for washing the boat. 100% happy with that for the purpose. A 100' hose fits easily in the bottom of a 5 gal bucket with the boat soap and brushes. If I want to take it with me on a cruise it takes up almost no space. The only consideration is that the exterior of that hose is a fabric that gets pulls, so it will wear out over time, but the convenience of the ease of stowing it completely outweighs the fact that I'll have to replace a $25 hose every few years. https://www.menards.com/main/outdoo...rden-hose/2533/p-4283774894482021-c-13103.htm

It is a strange comment to make, but I'm totally satisfied with my hose arrangement.

+1 on this zero G…. 4th year and no issues perfect for water and washing. We have them at the house too.

I had one because I thought it would be best for storage on the boat but the ends have corroded to the point they are hard to thread onto anything. On top of that it continuously kinked whenever I pulled it around. Not good for me but thanks. No collapsing or expanding hoses for me.
