My port engine revs well above 4600, the starboard engine revs only to 4300. The engines are tuned and there's no prop or shaft damage.
The port throttle lever continues to add revs as long as I want to keep pushing it forward...so 4750 is as high as I've tried it, and only once. The starboard...
My use is ship-to-shore only. No putting around, no exploring. The usual distance is a few hundred yards in calm water. On a rare occasion there could be chop and the distance is a half mile. The dinghy is a roll-up 8'6", semi-rigid floor, no keel, non-planing, our passenger weight for two...
It is generally accepted that planing cruisers typically experience 25%-35% prop slippage, pathetic - but it is what it is.
Please correct me if I'm mistaken, I have the gear ratio for the Horizon 8.1S 370 hp with V-drives as 1.2:1. The props are the stock 4 blade NiBrAl 18x21's. Our boat...
Sexual innuendo aside... do you cook in your cabin? The truth is a lot of people neither cook in their cabin nor allow anyone to #2 in the head. It's a fact.
So talk to me, even liveaboards and perhaps especially liveaboards, do you cook in your cabin?
In SW Florida from May-Sep it gets smokin' hot, especially at 8mph on the water.
I'm looking for a fan that puts out a good amount of air without being too big. I recognize that 'good amount' and 'too big' are very subjective but I'm confident you guys know what I mean.
I had purchased one about the same time as the group buy here and given the personal testimony of the CSR member who organized it I hoped it would do the same for me. My wife didn't think our boat smelled funny, or moldy, or mildew...but there was something I didn't like. Granted, it spends a...
I made some adjustments to my bimini canvas and now I need to drill a 1/4" hole thru the inside tube near the bottom. The metal is very thin as you know, and I'd like to do it with the frame in place. I've read about drilling holes in stainless steel but I want to ask you guys how you'd do it...
At the helm of the 340 are two switches, one for Nav Lights, one for Mast Light. The mast light itself has some corrosion so the light works sporadically. I can repair that.
However, when the mast light has been operative, it only comes on when the Nav Lights are on. I think I should be able...
I saw this on THT and bought some yesterday online which I'll pick up today. Home Depot has a 3 pack of Plano 3700 series ProLatch boxes for $9. They also have a 3 pack of waterproof boxes for $10.
I use the 3700 for fishing tackle and lures mostly but they're great for holding spare parts...
I want to put a couple of clamp-on rod holders on the grab rail mounted to the radar arch. The problem is after I mount everything the space left to use for a standard allen wrench - just one off the shelf - is too narrow. The arm is about 1" long, I could use about 1/2".
Do you guys know where...
Thanks to CSR member Seapaws I learned recently that the long out-of-production, out-of-stock, and easy-to-break Mic Cradle for the Ray215 radio a lot of us have is now in stock. I just placed a phone order. They're still $4 and the part number is R49063.
On a side note, when I purchased my...
The bimini and sunshade are 2004 Great lakes, so I presume they're Sunbrella. No tears or holes, but fairly "brittle" relative to my newer canvas. All of the other pieces are fine and the eisenglass is new.
I'm wondering if this fabric can be reconditioned, or softened...I don't know, maybe...
Introducing the 340 Sundancer FC -
Cruise to the fishing grounds with the style and comfort of the flagship in Sea Ray's sport cruiser line...
....once there, two quick release pins let you clear the deck. The transom seat stows easily in the cabin, and the optional bait prep station...
For those owners who fish their AJ's regularly, how has the transom seat and bolster... especially the bolster...fared?
Since the fishbox supports the bolster I'm sure the bolster is exposed to a lot of hooks, knives, pliers etc., in addition to fish blood and guts and the rest. So I'm...
2004 340 DA gunwale rod holder install question...
These are installed in the inner part of the gunnel as pictured below. I want two on each gunwale, one where pictured and the second behind it just aft of the step. Is there any wiring below I need to consider?
I bought mine from another CSR member late last year. It was brand new then and has been used very little. I'd like to trade it for the same thing in Toast. Absolutely must be in excellent to like new condition.
I need one. Even with the 25% discount from Great Lakes a new one is ridiculous...$600! Mine is an original 2004 in Capt Navy. It will serve as a pattern if I want to try and make it, which I believe I can. However...if you have one you'd like to sell for wayyy below Great Lakes, I'm in.
This is a picture of the type of flat deck hinge I need to install in the same location on my boat. It will connect to the end cap on the stanchion for camper canvas exactly as pictured in this exact location. I can't see how this could be too difficult even for a beginner who has never done...
The present fuel prices thread inspired me to post this question I've had for quite some time.
Many, many of us have Mercruiser 8'1's and 6.2's etc. I mean a ton of boats are running these low compression engines. How do I know these are low compression engines? Because Mercruiser states that...
I tried putting this in the Dinghy section but received no comments so now I'll try the General section:
We opted for the Sea Eagle SE9 over more traditional inflatable tenders because of the interior space and the overall utility of the SE9 versus other setups. It has excellent reviews, is...
