I also read it this way. For me, half the fun is taking a well cared for used boat and bringing it up from there to make it mine. Now I am a Great Lakes guy, so nice used ones can be found. My last boat, a 28 Bertram FBC was 20 years old when I brought it up from Lake Erie and a much better 37...
One more question. Stripped the old stuff out today (a mess!). The center section, just below the vent seems a bit smaller. Did this section take the same size trim? Thanks!
My boat was never on Lake Michigan. First 5 years on Lake Erie, then the last 17 on Lake St Clair with the owner I purchased from. Doesn't mean there is not some past damage. I am going to watch when the boat is splashed tomorrow to see if there's a difference between the port and starboard side...
A different topic that I haven't seen covered in the 370EC conversations. Did a short haul this week at my long-time boatyard for some bottom work prior to going inside for the winter. The guys called me after lifting the boat to tell me they saw some flexing of the gunnels at the forward...
Got it figured out and you were correct . After a couple combinations didn't work, switched to the gray leads and the cockpit and sub fired up and I could control the volume, balance and fade. Thank you for the insights.
Got it figured out. Everything is working. The original head unit and amplifier had combined channels splitting on the input side of the amp. Had to experiment with a couple combinations using the RCA outputs from the new head unit. Thank you for the insights.
Actually there are 4 sets, front, rear, "2-zone" and sub. The only one used in the old unit was the sub. I have some RCA's coming tomorrow. Will hook things up and report back. Thank you!
I have a question about the original equipment Clarion set up. I posted this earlier today in the Electronics QA forum:
Good Afternoon: I have my new to me 1999 370EC. It has the original Clarion with 6CD changer. Did some research here and the M508 was suggested as a good "plug and play"...
I'll look for the possible second amp. The grey, white and green and purple were crimped to the new 16 pin connector. There are RCA plugs that connected to the "high level" for the sub. I hope I'm being precise enough. This isn't my language! Thanks!
There were two, going to the sub-woofer. All other connections accounted for. There was a multi-pin plug and cable which looked to be going to the CD changer. This did not have a corresponding plug on the M508. The "main" amp has two sets of RCA inputs going in.
I should mention. The existing system is exactly as it came from the factory. This boat was owned for the last 17 years by the second owner. Still has the original TV/VCR's!
Good Afternoon: I have my new to me 1999 370EC. It has the original Clarion with 6CD changer. Did some research here and the M508 was suggested as a good "plug and play" upgrade. I have a number of projects and upgrades planned for this boat and wanted a simple solution to get Bluetooth, etc...
Update and I think the end of this for now. Played around with the the test switch and it's definitely shot and pops the breaker. For whatever reason (maybe obvious to those with the knowledge) the panel lights all function without the breaker set, but no horn. Engine alarms function normally...
