    Anyone with Zeus Pods?

Try the Mercury dealers. Google the part number and reach out to the dealers that claim they have the kit 'in stock'. Crowley, Leaders, Boats.net, PerfProTech, others. And join the Zeus Pod Facebook site I mentioned above.

I now see you are already a member of the Zeus Facebook site and posted your prop issue last summer/fall. I hope you find the list of Zeus repair services found in the Featured area.

vesselview smartcraft alarm info. zeus pod. sea ray 2010 ,500 sundancer.

The cable...not the antenna...that's interesting. Smart Craft diagnosis is tough unless you find an experienced fellow. Be glad it wasn't the antenna as it is an earlier version on your boat and is hard to source. The newer antenna is a combined GPS & IMU and requires some Smart Craft...

vesselview smartcraft alarm info. zeus pod. sea ray 2010 ,500 sundancer.

Based on the little error info provided by the author, I suspect a bad GPS antenna. He stated 'IMU' was part of the displayed error. This is the Inertial Measurement Unit and is tied to the autopilot/GPS. If the GPS is bad the Precision Pilot light will flash continuously since it isn't...

Error Message: WHEEL END STOP DISABLED

Not an absolute rule, just the recommended procedure from Mercury and Cummins. Stbd key first, then port key, then stbd engine, then port engine. Forget where I read it. The stbd CCM module is the master module which initiates communications with the balance of the Smart Craft/Cummins...

Error Message: WHEEL END STOP DISABLED

I had this End Stop and other steering issues for several seasons. After connecting a G3 and running a Live Report that I shared with Mercury, they condemned the steering motor. Problem solved? For a while. Alarms came back and I discovered the the stbd Drive Position Sensor (on the pod) had...

    VesselView 1.5 'sleep' mode

Found this in the VV1.5 manual. It is a bit unclear. It confirms VV1.5 enters 'suspend' mode after 48 hours but says the unit returns to the 'last active screen' at key-on. While this is true inside of 48 hours, it doesn't behave this way after 48 hours. The underlying software is Windows CE so...

    VesselView 1.5 'sleep' mode

I have a pair of VV1.5 units...the first version with the silver bezel and NMEA0183. If I come to the boat less than 48 hours after prior use, at key-on, the VV units 'wake up' to the last screens displayed. In other words, they 'remember' from the last use of the boat. If I return more than 48...

    Pod Maintenance

Found this post on another CSR forum and thought it should be added here. It speaks to basic pod maintenance and is insightful. index.php

If water got into the pod bay, check all connections on the pods to make sure no water has gotten into them, especially the steering connections on the actuator manifold.

Zeus Trim Tab Actuator Connector Failure

I know this thread is nearly two years old but I am trying to figure out when Mercury made the change to the newer actuators. Icsdoug, would you mind telling me what the serial number is on at least one of your pods? I see you have a 2012 SeaRay. My Sabre is a 2013 with one pod serial of...

    Maretron DSM410 / J2K100 / J1939 Onan programming

Thanks, alnav. My tech and I programmed via the Maretron N2K analyzer and did set the engine hours to 'enable'. I will mess with this some more only because I have really gotten into this project and want to learn as much as possible. Many thanks.

Shaps, am not following you. Any chance you could expand on your reply. Are you saying that using the settings described in the previous post will allow engine hours to display? Sorry and thanks!

Drive-stbd Tvm: low hydrolic oil level

Shaps, how did your updated mercathode controller alert you to a neighbor's bad ground? If the led light, what did it do? I have updated my controllers and the led is very handy. My port led was flashing green which is the 'needs service' indication. It turns out my mercathode puck on the...

    Maretron DSM410 / J2K100 / J1939 Onan programming

Project complete (I think). Thanks to all who have guided me via this post. The smart craft NIM, once converted to J1939 (cut W2, reconnect W5) was connected to the J2K converter via the Deutsch cable identified here. The J2k was connected to my NMEA2K Furuno network via the FI-5002 junction box...

    Maretron DSM410 / J2K100 / J1939 Onan programming

OC Grant: On Jan 30, 2021, you posted a pic of your J2K1000 'Cummins version' that displayed Source ID: 234, Engine Instance: 10, Alternator Instance: 10, and AC/Diagnostics Instance:10. Did you keep these settings? Did these settings appear in the DSM410 device config area? I am finishing my...

    Maretron DSM410 / J2K100 / J1939 Onan programming

OK, I have a weird question. What if you have a Smartcraft NIM. Can you connect it to a Mercury Vessel View Mobile Adapter and see your genset data on the mobile app? I believe you would need the cable that connects to the 12 pin port on the NIM and has the Mercury 10 pin connector on the other...

    Maretron DSM410 / J2K100 / J1939 Onan programming

Grant, I have removed the NIM and readied the wires. The existing jumpers show AWM 125C 600V wire ratings. Did you use this kind of wire or simply an AWG wire? If AWG, what gauge did you use? I guess AWM (appliance wire material) has some heat ratings to it. Thanks.
