I am considering making a move on this boat which appears to be fresh...new rebuilds documented on 454 Mags spinning Bravo 1's. Boat is clean with dockside/shore power A/C...no generator. I'm guessing $14K~ $16K.
Was there a generator option on this boat? Anyone have any experience with this...
I have been looking for a good source for older Boat Test magazine articles...especially those from the '70's and '80's. Anyone know of a good online resource?
Thanks
John
I ran across this over on the Donzi Forum.

How about 650 HP & 100+ MPH in a 22 foot Deep V with a single Alpha 1!!!
This is a great read and has me re-thinking moving to twin Bravo 1's in my Formula 255 Liberator:huh:
...Boat show.
Did anyone see the new 34'~38' Sundancer off the semi trailer and crashed on the Florida Turnpike today?
It was on the South Bound side between Atlantic and Glades exit in Boca. I just caught a glimpse of it as I was headed north this afternoon,
Hope no one was hurt...what a waste.
OK guys...I am determined to do this but have run into a snag. In removing the drive bell housing (aka "skull or helmet") I have to remove the pivot pin bolts that also serve as the pivot bushings. There is one on each side. The starboard side came out with out too much trouble using the...
I bought a 1979 255 Formula Liberator in Ft. Lauderdale in late December. An employee of the seller was to meet me with the title when I took delivery but was MIA.Bearing in mind that I had seen the Michigan Title previously, I took the boat with the assurance that the title would be mailed...
....and run it anyway.
I kept looking for the source of a loud whine when I would start the starboard engine on my '79 Formula 255 Liberator. Well I knew the U-Joint Bellows was torn but I had not pulled the Upper Unit off until today.....I think I found my problem. When I pulled it off...
This one caught my eye and I was wondering if any of our members around Providence/Boston area have seen this boat.

Has anyone set up an express cruiser using this transmission? Seems like it would work bolted on a Velvet Drive before the prop shaft and enable a boat to get on a plane quicker by allowing the engine to turn at a higher RPM using a higher pitch prop to get on a plane then shift to a 1:1 ratio...
When he paid a tribute to his Dad Lloyd Bridges, I felt a tug at my heart strings. It was the TV show Sea Hunt that started it all for me. As a kid I made it a point to watch every episode.
Here is a link to the Sea Hunt web sight with a special section about "Argonaut" Mike Nelson's 34'...
I stumbled across this site and find it useful for looking up part numbers and getting drawings of parts and drives.
They cover all of the MerCruiser sterndrives from the old original N0. 1 up through the Bravos...good reference.
I put this link in my favorites in my browser and use it more...
My brother has a new 'sweety" in Destin and is spending a lot more time there with his 22' Formula.
I mentioned Shells island to him and am looking for recommendations as to where he could launch and what route would be best for him to take an exploratory day trip.
Thanks,
John F.
I found this and thought others might enjoy reading about C.N. Ray, the founder of Sea Ray.

Well it has happened again...the first time in 1977 and again tonight.
My local West Palm Beach weather guy just reported that trained observers have reported snow flurries in Boynton Beach, Ft. Lauderdale and Kendall (South Miami). Palm Beach reported sleet accumulating on cars along Worth...
I have a 9 year old Sony Digital 8 Cam Corder that has and is serving us well. With HD TV and the increase in picture quality that the provide, I am considering a move to a used "pro-style"

I have the digital SLR thing down and would like any members advice on these rigs. Start...

I thought you guys would like to see what else Cat 3208s are used for. A few years ago I did an AFFF Foam/WaterFire Sprinkler System in an Aircraft Maintenance Hangar for Lear Jet in Ft. Lauderdale. This hangar is about 50,000 sq. Ft. and 50 ft tall. In protecting one of these for a Jet A fuel...
