I don't boat in salt water, so I don't know much about that part. I do know it is best if you can put it on a lift, and do a fresh water rinse after each use. Otherwise, the boat is solid, and that engine has been in production for a very long time. It's solid and reliable.
Get a good...
It's in the engine compartment. It's a breaker with a red button and a flip out switch. Push the switch back in and it should. 3 red wires connected to it.
The blue lights are on a dimmer switch, and I think it's marked Accy. It's next to the cockpit lights. Push it down multiple times to dim in incremental steps. Or, push it and hold it down and they gradually get dimmer. I wish they were red instead... and could be dimmer. Cruising at night...
Well, we now have about 80 hours on her... she hasn't been sitting still! We have had no run issues, and no issues with electronics or controls. We added some drive lube in the first few hours, but that's normal. It used about 1/2 a quart of oil during the first 20 hours too. Since then, it's...
Sorry, I think I'm not familiar enough with the boat... but I tried. I would talk with a custom canvas or upholstery shop. I'm sure they can fabricate something nice for you. I don't think you'll find a good option that you can pull off the shelf for an application like that. But, I offer...
Hi, Paul! Well, we now have about 80 hours on her... she hasn't been sitting still! We have had no run issues, and no issues with electronics or controls. We added some drive lube in the first few hours, but that's normal. It used about 1/2 a quart of oil during the first 20 hours too...
okay, great stuff! But, please help me with this solution, because I can’t get it to work. If I connect to Fusion by WiFi (so I can AirPlay), then the phone is on Fusion, which is not connected to the internet. The phone cannot use its built-in internet connection, because it’s connected to...
OP here. I have been using it a couple of months, and it seems to be working well. I put some in once or twice a week, depending how much we're using it, and we don't have any smell. So far, so good!
We have the 350 on the 290. It's good for about 40 to 43 mph. Of course, heavier boat. But, I'd pay the extra. Nobody ever complained about too much HP. OTOH, if you step up to the 8L motor, it's going to use a lot more fuel.
I know this is an old thread but I'm doing research on this. My guess is that a previous owner often had 11 on the boat. SO, they had a new sticker printed that says 11 instead of 10. You may be able to pull the sticker off, and see the original one. I know this because I have a friend who...
Glad you got it worked out, Paul! Now that we have the boat in the water, I notice that cross winds cause a list too, and I can level it with the trim tabs. I don't know if your boat has them.
Arminius, not sure how you do it... but you managed to turn a battery/list post into a political post.
I would recommend a boat handling course, and a safety course. In my area, the Power Squadron offers on-water boat handling for free, and the safety course is not very expensive. Good information, and good hands-on experience. Practice makes perfect.
I bought new this year. It was for a few reasons.
1. We had a local seller with the boat we wanted, a 290 SDX. His was 2018. But he was a little high on price (last August), and was inflexible. For a little more we were able to get a new one, and order to our spec.
2. The one local...
I would buy the Wellcraft, save some money and don't look back. Just enjoy. You can "upgrade" the Wellcraft if you want to improve the cosmetics. A nice teak floor, new teak tables, and updated electronics might be just the ticket. Invest $5k to personalize it and really set it apart from...
First major upgrade to the new SDX 290. Installed drawers inside the wet bar. We didn't get the fridge, and wanted to make this space more functional. We grill often, so wanted a place for our dishes, etc, and add some storage. I made these from PVC sheets I got at Home Depot, added drawer...
