engine stutters under power at 2800 rpm to about 3000 rpm , than smoothes out. If I raised then lowered the out drive, it would stop the problem, now the problem won't go away. Thank you for your time.

I would look at ignition components like cap rotor and plugs. or are these 4.5's distributor less. I know on the GM based 4.3/5.7 MPIs the crab cap distributor cap would cause similar symptoms

A technician ran Rinda diagnostics and found throttle body was closing briefly at approximately 3000 rpm. He wants to remove throttle body and check throttle position sensor. Merc service techs use G3 diagnostics designed by Merc for these engines they make themselves. I'm thinking of having a Merc tech diagnose it. Thank you for your reply!!
