Another Shower Sump Pump Problem Help please...

Hey Barry,
Looks like you have just one more part to replace you're done with this. I'll be doing the same thing with the check volve Frank has suggested. Don't get frustrated, you're about an inch away from successful completion :)

Good luck,
Alex.

The check valve is very sensitive. Try to loosen, or tighten the hose clamp around it to get it to work. You may have moved it when you installed your new pump. Just play with the hose connections around the check valve and reconnect. Also, you may want to slide the check valve away or closer to the connection area. I had trouble with my check valve getting "bound up" when I tightned the hose clamp to tight, and that prevented it from working properly.

Thanks Frank..The only thing I removed was the pump..but I can tell there's something in the clear tubing that was connected to the old pump, which is still there. I'm not sure if I did anything to it when I poked it to see if anything was stuck in there when I removed the old pump. I was thinking of either using my vacuum cleaner's hose to see if it would suck out any obstruction, or running my water hose and blasting the water thru the tube to see if there is anything that might be making the water come back instead of go out. What do you think?

If I remove the tubing, (and it has a different kind of clamp on it that I'm not sure how to undo) , and get to the check valve, is there anything I can do to fix it?

Barry

PS, any thoughts on how best to secure the new float switch as it is larger now and doesn't line up to the holes that the old one does.

I would really like to hear more on this "bilge buddy" as well. Great idea if it works. Had a pump running on one occasion for probably a couple of hours and as the boat was powered up didn't notice it untill I was tied up at the dock. Stuck switch, the ususal first problem. Something electronic may be far better, unless someone has a reason otherwise. Never heard of a unit like this and am a little suspicious why. Please keep me in the loop. Thanks
