I took her out for the first time this season yesterday and ran perfect. The only small issue I had was that the blower quit working. When I flipped the switch my volt meter moves like there is a load present. I'm guessing that the blower motor locked up. Anyone have this happen to them? I'm assuming this is an inexpensive and an easy do-it-yourself job.

I've attached some photos from the day including pics of the anchor hatch I made as well shots showing the teak resto (light blemish on the back left of the bow pulpit is bird doo doo which was cleaned off later...LOL) and the newly buffed hull. (Sorry, my camera is not the best). I also found out that I'm two boats down from the co-writer of the song "Redneck Yacht Club". (Imagine that...a country music writer owning a boat in Nashville) Pretty cool! Let me know what you think. :smt001

That looks really good. Now swap your Flag locations. Your Ensign is supposed to be at the stern.

That looks great though.

Teak looks great. What did you clean it with, and what did you finish it with?

The key was sanding the pealed varnish that the previous owner had on it. I used the Star Bright 3-step kit (cleaner, brightener, oil). I purchased at West Marine. The key is that the wood is in good shape underneath. The hardest part is the sanding so make sure you invest in a good mask to avoid he dust.

Does anyone know where the factory blower is located? I don't see any inline blowers in place so I can only guess it's mounted high by the vent on the transom. I don't want to tear it apart if it's not there.

My 1982 EC has the inline blower mounted on the transom, alongside the outdrive.
You should be able to remove Board running accross the rear under the fold-down seats, and aleast find the wiring for it and follow the wiring. That rear transom vent has several hoses attached to it.

My blower is in-line, in one of those 3" hoses, Port(left) side .
Good Luck.

Thanks for the note. I'm sure with a little more time underneath I'll find it and diagnose. I sure hope it's not in the wiring:smt089

Fixed!! Wasp nest dropped down into the blades and hung up the fan blades. Good as new.
