I Cruised to Oyster Bay Marina, Fernandina Beach, Florida for a Jacksonville Boating Club event May 28-31, 2010, went on the ("Outside") cruised north around five miles offshore in the Atlantic Ocean. Depth Finder gave a flashing indication (Tridata ST-60), just prior to entering the Atlantic, later found out this is due to air bubbles under hull, capitations.

Also the starboard tachometer gave some inaccurate readings, it was reading between 3400-4000 RPM, while port was reading 3200, and synch gauge showed engines in sync. I listened to both engines, they appeared to be sounding in sync, with rudder centered, boat tracked straight. Again I have since learned this is a common occurrence with Sea Ray Tachometers. Depth readings work well once speed is reduced.

As an aside

While there met a CSR member from Georgia, I would appreciate it if he would PM me his club ID.

Thanks

So with no comments back I am guessing myself and one other CSR member are the only ones to experience these issues? By the way he also has a 380 DA.

Sooooo....

Tachometer maybe wiring connections, corrosion, perhaps?

yep, this is normal. Sometimes if you follow too close to another boat, you get all kinds of depth readings.

Tachs, normal. clean the contacts, exercise switches if there are any on the back, tap on it.
