Engine Cleaning after Heat Exchangers installation

Hello,

I am in process of installing new Heat Exchangers kit on my Sea ray 340DA 1999. As far as I understand, it will be full system cooling (not half).

New question is about how to clean engines after Heat Exchangers installation, what kind cleaners to use before filling in actual antifreeze.
1 I am going to use Salt Away first.
2 Someone mention that it will also good to use something to remove old rust. Does it make sense and what kind of liquids to use for that?
3 Can I just dump coolant to the bilge after each round of cleaning and let bilge pump to pump it out?
4 Should I do round of just clean fresh water after I use Salt Away and rust removal?
5 How long should motor work with each liquid ?

Please help me to create cleaning plan and figure corresponding liquids.

Great questions... There's two issues that I can think of - silt and dirt in the engine cooling jackets and the rust on the iron. Backflushing the engine block through the block drain ports would be a first step and possibly allowing a good detergent to sit in the engine for a day or so but short of pulling the casting plugs (freeze plugs) or heads I don't know how to get the sediment out. Possibly running the system on water only and draining it for several uses before introducing the antifreeze.
You could circulate for a period a diluted mix of Rydlyme which will break down any calcium but don't leave it in the engine as it will attack any aluminum.
Caterpillar makes a great engine flush which would be my final flush before the coolant.

I have ordered heat exchangers kits from Orca Marine and they just arrived. We are installing them next weak and definitely will use Salt Away with rust inhibitors.
