Didn't you old 340 have risers?

Ok, I give. Elbow is what lets the raw water out, but it is often interchanged with riser.
Although what you have pictured is just a riser.

My old 340 had Crusaders which only had elbows and were on a downward slope all of the time. The manifold was anti-freeze and the elbow was raw.
