We were out on Saturday and we were coming home at night. I was in a no wake zone and I was going about 900 rpm's. I heard a quick thug against the hull, so I put the drives in neutral as quick as I could. I felt a slight vibration in the steering wheel as I am assuming the debree hit one or both of the bravo 3 drives as it went by. As I looked back, I saw it was a smaller size log in the water. I don't feel any vibration in the steering wheel when I got back up on a plane later on after the no wake zone. So, do you think I did any damage to the prop's or the entire drive? I was pissed, but I always hear everyone will hit some crap in the water sooner or later.

Peek A Boo

Time to take a swim and look thngs over ... if there are nicks, dings and bends in anything, including gelcoat its a good time to haul for a better inspection.

The Bravo's should lift up in trailer mode high enough to see if you lay on the swim platform. This will only give you a look at the props. I agree you should go for a swim, but this is a quick prop check.

Good luck - hope its nothing....

I hit a HUGE log in the hudson. I was doing about 15mph, submerged log, tabs down. The boat slowed way down as the tabs caught it. both drives went over the log and the props grabbed some wood. I took a dive and everything looked good except I took a small amount of bottom paint off the hull. Everything ran fine and no vibrations. I would take a swim with a mask to check things out, but you're probably fine if everything is running good.

Yeah. . .if you got up on plane and can run at high speed. . .then everything is fine. If something was wrong, 3000rpm will show it up real quick.

If I recall correctly, you are a trailer type, right? Give the hull a good once over and see if you have any gel coat damage.

Yes, I do have a trailer. It isn't my wife's most favorite things to help with pulling the boat out of the water. I think next week, during the mid week when nobody is using the ramp, I will put it out at the ramp and inspect her and then dump her right back in if things look good.

Poormonkey,
Chances are you did not do any damage. I'm sure your lower units are running SS props. Good Idea to haul the boat and check them out.

Poormonkey.
I agree that it sounds like everything is fine. More than likely you bonked the outdrive on the leading edge and if you throttled back as quick as you say, you may have just grazed the props without damage. I also agree that a quick swim with mask, your visual and running your hand along the leading edge of the outdrive will put your fears to rest.
Best of luck!
