SRV 240 Hardtop. Nice looking boat. Not sure of the value. get inspection (Hull and mechanical) if serious about buying.

I think $4,000 with the trailer and everything in working order would be a good deal.

Just a quick look at the photos elicits these comments

  1. That doesn't look like a marine distributor cap. Maybe it's one I don't recognize, but I'd recommend checking that everything on that engine is marine rated, ignition protected.
  2. The mismatched hose and metal tube on the exhaust manifolds would worry me. Water ingestion from worn out manifolds can be terminal to an engine's health and well-being.
  3. That rubber hose from the fuel pump to the carburetor is not ABYC, USCG, or NMMA code compliant.
  4. Is that white wire solid conductor Romex?
  5. That's not a PCV valve in the far valve cover connected to the carburetor. Is it? If so then that's not marine and the carb probably isn't marine.

I'd really take a hard look at what other shortcuts might have been done in the last 30+ years. Ignition and fuel systems are not the place for cost cutting.

Best regards,
Frank

Cant tell for sure either but it doesn't look like the trailer suited for the boat in that the bunks aren't long enough to support the stern/transom which can lead to a "hook".
To Frank's point I think he is on to something....looks like a junction box in he back of the engine bay with blue romex too
