Last weekend while touring the marina we spotted a 2001 51
' Sundancer. The owners were very nice and invited us on board to check it out. Holly crap was she nice!! We returned back to our boat (which is half the length and width) and my 7 year old daughter was just sitting there kinda sad. When i asked her what was wrong she said " Daddy are boat is too small! I want one as big as the other one.". Now, i heard of 2' itice, but not 2x itice.

Oh boy, she's going to be high maintainence in the future!!! j/k - What did the admiral say???

Oh Boy...you have a problem.
Big time!
Been there done it.
Cost me.

Hmmmm.... where is that 44 footer I used to own???

That's similar to my story, except it was me that saw the bigger boats and me that wanted a bigger boat ! :wow:

Admiral says that we need to keep a boat at least longer than one season before we upgrade again. So...............maybe next season.:smt101 Doubt that i will satisfy my daughter though.

We were very fortunate (lucky) when we bought our boat. We started looking for something with a cabin, AC and a generator so that we could keep boating (comfortably) when we got our daughter. We started looking at 27's. And 28's. And 29's. And 32's. And ended up with a 34'. Good thing the dealer didn't show us a 36' or a 38'.

But the good news is, that while we continue to want a larger boat (I mean, who doesn't?), the 34' has been both a great boat and we haven't outgrown it in 9 years.

Our next jump will likely be costly - not only in terms of the upgrade - but because we will likely require a larger slip as well. So tack another $200 a month on top of whatever the boat trade is. That tends to keep us happy...

Besides, how big of a boat do I really need on an inland lake? There is such a thing as too much boat around here. Though the guy on our lake with a 68' Azimut doesn't realize that.:smt101

Tell her you will buy her a pony instead... :smt038

Either one will cost you... Best of luck not getting wrapped around her finger... She already has you there...
