It acts just like a bad accelerator pupmp does on an engine with a carburetor. My dealer has already checked out everything with his Scan Tool and nothing shows up. I am getting a little bit nervous over the issue. We both suspect it might have something to do with the IAC but can't be sure. Anyone ever experience a problem like this? I should mention it is intermittent in nature too which many times make solving these things a hassle.

Dave,

I had a similar problem, although it may not be the same as yours.

Do you have a strong exhaust smell when you open the engine hatch after the engine has been running? It seems that the exhaust manifold gasket on the 350 is very narrow in some spots. If it is seated slightly off center, the exhaust can burn through it, which it seems is what happened to me. When this happened, I could hear a tick...tick...tick sound at idle, and caused a hesitation problem when I would accelerate.

Somehow, I managed to avoid ingesting water when that happened, and it ran fine as soon as the gasket was replaced.

Since yours is intermittent, I doubt that this is the problem.
