Port motor seizes

while fishing today, on a perfectly calm morning, we were trolling with the starboard motor running and had shut off the port motor, then all of a sudden port motor cylinder filled with lake water and wouldn't start until I pulled all 8 spark plugs, turned engine over and emptied the cylinders of water. Then reinstalled spark plugs and motor ran fine!!! Second time this has happened in 2 years....does anyone have any idea what may have caused this breakdown??

Well, absent the make, year, model of the boat and engines it is impossible to help out at all. This is a twin V8 gas boat in a lake. Not much to start with.

Welcome to the board.

While I can only say WOW as this issue is way over my head, I will add that it would help the "experts" on this forum if you could provide your signature adding information as to the year and model boat, and the specific engines, etc.

By giving more specifics, you will likely get more specific replies.

Good luck.

Man that’s not good. Post your boat info and engine model etc and you’ll get a better response. Sounds to me that it is a classic case of water ingestion through the exhaust.

Sounds like something is broken, rusted, or otherwise FUBAR. I'd fix it, if it were my, I assume, boat.

Best regards,
Frank
