rolling screen in skylight/hatch

Great weekend on the lake, but unfortunately the screen that rolls across the hatch over the V-berth has developed a tear. It's none too rugged to begin with, and it is pretty brittle and frail now at 7+ years old. My question is, has anyone replaced theirs and how did you go about it? There appear to be 4 screws holding the flange to the overhead around the hatch on the inside, does removing them allow the whole flange/screen/shade assembly to drop right out? (not likely, but hey, a guy can hope, right?) Once it's out, is the only option a replacement unit from Sea Ray, or can the screen portion only be repaired or replaced by someone in the trade? Or, should I permanently retract it and get a canvas guy to make me a rugged one that I can attach to the flange with Velcro or snaps?

Thanks in advance!

Bill

If it's a Bomar hatch, google bomar hatch repairs or something similar until you get to the various kits Bomar sells for repairs. They usually explain how to complete the repairs as well.
