Hi

Newbie here..

I about to purchase a used 320. I found a marina that would like to keep it in next year, but I don't like all of their restrictions for winter storage. I am looking for a marina that will rent a slip for the remainder of this season and then hall and block the boat and allow me to winterize it and allow me to prep it for launch next spring.

I live in North Jersey, so I am looking for something north of Seaside Heights, preferably up by the Raritan River or even further north of that...

Any suggestions and thoughts on what a reasonable winter dry storage rate would be?

Vince,

I don't know anything in that area, but I picked up SaltyDog magazine and saw few ads there. Here's their site http://www.thesaltydog.com/

I think it's a weekly publication and ads vary based on the area. So, next time you're in the area where you'd like to store your boat, look for the magazine. Boatshopper may have some ads there as well.

Good luck,
Alex.

Seaside to Raritan is not necessarily a small search area, is it?

I would start with a drive, writing down the name of each marina you come to. . .then spend a day making calls. Hearing that I pay XYZ does you no good if I am to far south of you, or if you hate the marina.

Last year I paid around $800 for winter storage of a 22' sailboat down at Beaton's in Mantalokin (including stepping of Mast). Just north of Seaside Heights. Minimal (i.e. no) security. They won't bother you if you work on your boat. They won't work on your boat even if you ask them to.

probably the best you'll get is around $27/foot. the high end (my place) is around $44/ft.
