Awesome boat! I had a '92 290 and also added a platform. Best upgrade I did...and I did a lot.

Did you just buy this boat? How did you source a swim platform so quick?

Ordered the swim platform and all new Ele gear the day I decided on this boat.

I kinda went all in from day one based off the positive survey the PO had done at the end of last season before putting her up for sale, he also had all the service records of the major tune ups he had done to both motors and the gen.

So all that coupled with only 710hrs on motors and the boat being in fresh water only I felt pretty good about putting out the $$ to ensure I had everything ready to go once the weather broke a little.

I will say the two days I have had her out on the water have been challenging as the wind was blowing 17-22mph both times and I have never piloted a twin engeine boat before.

I am thinking of bumping the trim tabs to the 12”x 36” w/3” drop fins in place of the OEM 8”x30” to help keep the platform out of if the wake more.... did you do anything with new tabs? When you start up does the platform take any pressure from aft end dropping?

Had no issues with platform "digging" water.

I would wait on changing out the tabs. I added a swim platform (much smaller boat) and it was just above the waterline. Best mod I have ever done.

All the water that is pushed away from the rear of the boat will help ease your concern.

Good luck, gonna be a great summer!

Not yet, does that make huge difference? 500lbs extra upfront I would guess would keep the bow down also.

no that was the way swimplatorms. com had it set up when I ordered it. I think if given a choice I would have swapped sides of the ladder and grill. The gen. exhaust is on the ladder side currently.
