Wonder how long until they request foreign aid from the state Department?

Mike, as also may recall the anarchists that destroyed our city were from Oregon... Still PNW, but not from Seattle or Washington State. I worked in a high rise during this. Those of you old enough will recall the WTO riots in Seattle in November and December, 1999. Extremely violent, lasted 4 days.
My brother was on the Secret Service Detail assigned to protect the visiting dignitaries from other countries. The USSS guys met with the Seattle leaders months ahead and told them exactly what the rioters were going to do, in what sequence, and how Seattle should prepare for it.
Seattle didn't believe them, saying in effect "we're just a bunch of latte lovin' people up here in the PNW. That couldn't happen in Seattle." Well, it did and Seattle suffered A LOT from what could/should have been prevented.
So here we are 20 years later. Have they learned anything in those 20 years? Doesn't appear so.
We go from Anacotes to Olympia for a month in the fall in the boat. In Olympia there seems to be a lot of under employed young people. One person we met called them Granola People. Until they are gone from the world the protests and riots will continue. In the late 1890ies to the start of WWI there were anarchists in both Canada and US. They were considered a threat and were stopped. No cell phones then to record how it was handled.I do recall that, but to add to that, there is an anarchist thread that runs all the way from Vancouver, BC down through Seattle, Portland, Eugene and down to Sacramento. It was in place then and has only gotten larger and more powerful as the years have passed.
The riots of the past few years in Portland and Seattle and other PNW cities were born and bred in the antifa cells that stretch along the I-5 corridor.
I wish I had a solution but would take way more stripes on one's sleeve than I've ever had.
I was born (1950) and raised in Seattle. I saw first hand race riots in Seattle in the late 60s. In the early 60s I went (bussed) to a junior high school in a predominately black area. I stayed after school one day to go to a friends house and while walking to the bus stop after dark I got my ass kicked by 4 blacks because I was not where I was supposed to be.
I say this to illustrate that I have seen racism first hand towards all colors. I left Seattle in 1977 and have not lived there since but my Mom and brother still live there so I go to visit annually. I love Seattle. It used to be a really cool city. But now the liberal government has allowed the city I loved to turn into a cesspool of homelessness and liberal snowflake millennials. Over the last 5 years my visits showed me a city in serious decline. The video, “Seattle is Dying” really sums things up. It is at a point where I doubt I will return after my mom passes.
During the race riots and demonstrations in 1968-69 the mayor ordered the police to go in and take charge. A week ago the current joke of a mayor tells the police to abandon their precinct? They’ve allowed protesters to deface public and private property and extort business owners. In essence, they’ve created a police state with closed borders.
I’m ashamed and embarrassed for Seattle and don’t even recognize the city I was proud to call home.
Shawn
There's a group putting together a "take back Capital Hill" for July 4th.
It's going to be interesting to see if the city leaders try to stop them.
Actually. Apparently you can.I’m done with this BS....you can not just take 6 city blocks for your snowflake anarchy...
You forgot one thing on the list if you are white anyway, the phone number of your lawyer and bail bondsman. No doubt the anti protest demonstrators will be arrested for defending themselves when attacked by the antifa mob. This is from the Facebook page of the group to take back Seattle.
Here are the goals/ mission statement of this rally:
On July 4th, Independence Day, a coalition of patriot groups and all who want to join are going to rally at the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone for America. antifa members are illegally occupying public property and terrorizing small businesses in the neighborhood. We want to protest the tyranny and oppression that has occurred in the CHAZ.
We'll meet in Centurylink field all morning on July 4th.
We will then march through CHAZ with our flags at the barricades
We will also clean up any vandalism and graffiti that has tarnished statues and monuments.
We'll hold another speech and rally in the center of CHAZ.
We will let them know what we think of the Socialism that their councilwoman Sawant says she wants to force on America.
We'll let Antifa know that they will not bully Christians or people of different view points in Seattle ever again.
You do not need a bike to join. Any and all patriots with all vehicles are coming to this event.
Washington is an open carry state and there will be participants open carrying.
