A new country is born in America! Called CHAZ

Its all getting so tiresome to even think about anymore. The little snow flakes that are participating in CHAZ will tire of this soon when their panties need washing and they miss getting their triple vente latte double whip what ever at Starbucks. I don't recall Seattle as being one of the places in the news where there have been high profile police/unarmed black man killings. Do they even have a black population in the great white north anyway? Contact trace the trouble makers back to their parents and you will likely find that a large percentage of them are off spring of Microsoft and Boeing execs that are bored and unaffected by any social injustice at all. They are the modern day Hippies rebelling and rabble rousing because they can afford too!
The sooner we ignore them the sooner they will slink back to mommy's basement and their video games.

I've been curious on things myself, so spent some time on Seattle. Seattle is about 63% white, 7% black. The autonomous zone folks are a generally toned down in composition as compared to protestor/rioters although I'm sure plenty are dual purpose activists. That opinion was verified when one speaker said, to much cheering, 'if we don't get what we want we'll take over the whole fuckin' city'.

I watched a few speakers speak. They talked of 'equity' often, they must 'work' to get 'equity'. I was cheering them on, now they're on the right track. But me, a white guy, I'm thinking 'equity' as in, if you work hard at it you might have happiness, successful/fruitful relationships, a marriage, a job, a business, you know, all things of value but not always in the $$ form. The speaker went on to say reparations were important, it's how they'd get 'equity'.

That kinda turned me off and I quit listening, besides...I'm getting ready to go up to my boat. Took me 65 years to get that bit of equity....I wonder if they'd understand a story about how I got my boat if I told them.

Editor’s note: This is a live account of updates from demonstrations and other events on Thursday, June 11, as the day unfolded.

It has been more than two weeks since the death of George Floyd, a Black man who was killed on May 25 by a white Minneapolis police officer who pressed his knee on Floyd’s neck for several minutes. The protests over Floyd’s death, police tactics and systemic racism continue, not just in Washington and the United States, but around the world.

Earlier this week, Seattle police took down barricades near the East Precinct on Capitol Hill and boarded up the building. Since then, protesters have claimed the area, renaming it the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ). The following graphic shows what this portion of Capitol Hill looks like now.

Throughout Thursday, on this page, we’ll post updates from Seattle Times journalists and others on protests in the Seattle area. Updates from Wednesday can be found here.

If you’ve taken part in these protests, we’d like to hear from you: What has been your experience? What has being out there meant to you? Click here to let us know.

Poets and artists perform on Capitol Hill, sharing experiences and thoughts
Protesters are still sitting at the corner of 12th Avenue and Pine Street in the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone, cheering — and staying silent at times — as Black poets and artists voice the love, pain and fear they continue to feel.

Community organizer Nikkita Oliver helped facilitate the teach-in, according to multiple livestreams, introducing each artist one by one.

Rio Chanae stepped into the circle of protesters to perform a number of spoken word poems, touching on the terror that exists in catcalling culture and the necessity of "showing up when you're tired."

"I worked a full day before coming out here," Chanae said to the group, before launching into her next poem.

Another artist, Christopher Lee, reminded the crowd the gathering was not a party.

"This was fought for, but it's symbolic," Lee said, gesturing to the Seattle Police East Precinct. "It was not a win by any means. At any point ... They could take this building right back from us."

As Lee began his spoken word piece, the crowd quieted.

"Who in their right mind would murder our leaders for having dreams?" he rapped.

The next poet, Mattie, spoke about their experience as a first-generation child of African immigrants.

"I am a trans, queer single parent and my life matters," Mattie said.

Poets Chelsea and Ebo Barton wrapped up the set of performances before the crowd began to disperse.

I live in SE King County, about 20 miles south of the s***hole of Capital Hill. I've been really disgusted by the inaction of the Governor, Mayor and Police Chief in letting this happen. The area I live in is very "Red", as are most counties outside of King (Seattle), Pierce (Tacoma) and Snohomish (Everett) counties, and I'm sure that most of my neighbors are right leaning gun owners. I wonder what it would take to organize a militia to go evict and reclaim the CHAZ. Would the Mayor / Police even let that happen? I feel like times like this are going to require drastic measures, or this country is done for.

One thing for sure, these elected officials need to be legally removed from office for failing to uphold the oaths that they swore. Allowing our streets to be overrun by these terrorists is completely unacceptable.

So I was up all night. Need some help. Going to form a new country -- Kissmyanthia. Need a Florida barrier island to take over. Sanibel? Captiva? One of the Keys? Who's with me.

Me please...do I have to leave my guns and ammo somewhere else?

Guard is coming. They’ll fence em in. Shut off electricity and water. When they come out they’ll be photographed, printed, and jailed w federal charges.

Can’t wait. :D

Equity? We went to a local eatery yesterday where you walk up to the window, order, get food and go. This is in a county that as of yesterday still required masks and I saw them turn away a few people for not wearing a mask, even though they were 'outside'. The white girls in front of us were turned away and had to go get their masks and get back in line. The black kid behind us did not have a mask and was allowed to order. Equity? Business was probably afraid of making the news if they turned him away.

El Cap,what is your source on this?

https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/atto...-barrs-statement-riots-and-domestic-terrorism

“Federal law enforcement actions will be directed at apprehending and charging the violent radical agitators who have hijacked peaceful protest and are engaged in violations of federal law.

To identify criminal organizers and instigators, and to coordinate federal resources with our state and local partners, federal law enforcement is using our existing network of 56 regional FBI Joint Terrorism Task Forces (JTTF).

The violence instigated and carried out by Antifa and other similar groups in connection with the rioting is domestic terrorism and will be treated accordingly.”

The police chief spoke against this takeover. She made it clear that the mayor ordered the police to abandon the precinct.

What a cluster f**k that is in downtown Seattle. I'm waiting for the people who are providing food to get tired of feeding them, and then the heavy rains to start and the agitators get tired of sleeping in doorways.

I'll give this another week or so before they get tired and then move back to their parents' basement. But then, look how long the Occupy Wall Street cluster lasted, so what do I know?

I just hope that Trump ignores this one and stays out of it unless asked by the Governor to use Feds or Military to resolve it. Part of the strategy, I believe now, is to goad Trump into using the US military to bust American Citizens' heads and then use that against him in November. IF the Governor does ask for assistance Trump should make sure that he ties any assistance to future federal aid that Washington may apply for. If the people of Washington state won't take care of business the rest of us shouldn't be footing the bill.
Carpe Diem

The Governor will not ask Trump for assistance, they hate each other. The VP came for a visit several months ago, and Trump told him to watch out, because the Governor is a snake. lol He was right on point with that statement.
The Gov was asked earlier this week about this takeover, and he said he knew nothing about it, it was already several days in. That says to me that he supports it. I heard that comment myself on the radio as he was giving a covid update.
I also don't see the Gov bringing the National Guard in for this.

She had the option of denying an unlawful order though...
