Sea Ray SSS 1993 63 ft

We are gonna need more pics!

Hi Cop

Where abouts are you located Copb ? In the mood for some joint boating? Looks like you are in TX all i would have to do is sail around to the gulf, if i go to the dry tortugas im in your area anyways :) well a bit south lol You shouldnt be jealous your 42o looks like a real beauty!!

Thanks for the offer and it's awefully tempting. Unfortunately I have about 250 miles of Texas in between me and the coast. My boat is up on a lake that borders Texas and Oklahoma. I'm forced to live vicariously through all the members on this board who travel with their boats.

Wow... what a story, boat... and thread. I'm excited (and jealous) too!
Post some first impressions and more pics asap!
Congrats!!

Good morning all. Just read through this whole thread. What an amazing story! Hope evrything turns out well and please post some pics while in Florida. Would love to see some if possible when loading or unoading from the ship! Congratulations and enjoy!

Hi Guys

First time impressions, definately needs some tlc! Alot of small cosmetic work to be done! Little stains here and there, some cabinet doors need replacing. A few small motor issues, like the windlass goes down but does not come up and other little motor things like the sunroof motor on the hardtop spins but it does not move. The outside could use a good waxing and some switch panels etc all need to be remounted on the walls. SO yeah will need some minor fix up work, also thinking of getting the 2000 hour service done on it even the engines are only at 1100 hours.
Totally beautiful boat that will shine up real nice once a little care is put into it! Was a busy day only managed to get one picture sitting on the bow will post it. Heading down again today and will try to take more. bow.jpg

wow, I haven't seen a 63' up close since we lived in Florida. Forgot how LONG that bow is! What a cool boat! Look forward to the pics!

You said you had a survey done on the boat. were all of those items noted or are these things that you found yourself? You probably have little recourse now but I would make a stink about it if these were items that were conveniently left off the survey report.

I am sure its exciting to walk up to the boat and think "Wow this is finally mine" I know I would be jumping for joy and probably not sleeping a wink!

The bottom was cleaned during the haulout on the survey, so not long ago :) Yes they were all noted on the survey, just a lot of little things that have to be fixed, the main issues are getting the engines in tip top shape before i send her to Australia. In the process of getting all of that done now. Wont take all that much work to get her looking like new again. The previous owner had health problems so it has been sitting a long time! Boats do not like to sit!! Its a very big boat will definately take some getting used to captaining her!! Ok back to work!

Rszarka..

Glad to see you made it..Whilst I remember you will need to remove the gas from your fridges and air condition units and a certificate of its removal provided to you..otherwise big fine. Also, move
quick to have the boat in your name and have your boat removed from the US documentation otherwise you can't have it shipped.

When I was in Seabrook TX and had to live on board for 4 weeks on dock "C" (loved every moment of it) I had to take my boat up to Houston shipping and luckily someone told me I had to get
clearance from the "homeland security" otherwise I would have headed up there and been blown out of the water. Even though I got all the clearances I was still boarded by gun totting, sharp shooten USCG..After a check over they let me proceed to the ship..which I had to park next to. The ship then through down a rope ladder and I had to climb the damn thing hauling up my suit case l and laptop. quite funny really

Dude, You could mount Old Skool on the bow and use her for a dinghy. Unreal and very cool.

I've just read through the thread and have been enjoying your journey. Best of luck to you and looking forward to seeing more photos.

You guys are not going to believe this! What I have been through is pretty amazing, buying a yacht and shipping it to Australia is something else of an experienece. Need to change the name of the thread from 1993 63ft Sea Ray to 1999 54 ft Sea Ray. Long story that I will not say here as I do not want to embaress some people. But lets just say attourneys, almost a lawsuit, broken engines, so many other crazy problems and a night mare of an experience but the 63 is no longer in the picture!

You all said I had some tough lessons to go through and I just went through one of them! But the good news is i got out of it all with only a minor loss and got myself into an immaculate yacht that is spotless, fresh water kept only 500 hours on the engines a real beauty! This thread is turning into an epic saga lol Yes the new boat is not 63 but i actually like the layout of it better. Everything is ultra modern onboard and looks brand new! THe master berth is aft with ensuite shower head, the guest berth is vshaped and up front with ensuite head shower... Also the sofa converts into a queen by the push of a button motorized. You cant even tell the galley is there all hidden under counters and in cabinets, really nice... So great yacht only real difference is the lack of the crews quarters and the salon is not as big. Has hydraulic platform on the back with 14ft tender.... otherwise as i said like new 54 ft sea ray apparently owned by a multimillionaire who spared no expense in upkeep fresh water kept in the great lakes.

There ya have it pretty crazy, got into a 63 sight unseen and learned my lesson! Managed to get out of it with a huge event and just got myself into a beauty of a 54 pictures coming in the next few days. Owner just signed contract so making payment tomorrow and shes mine. I may miss my april shipping date, if so the owners has agreed to let me keep her docked behind his house for free so no biggie there just have to wait until july to have her in Australia which will suck the anticipation will kill me!

What a crazy ordeal all around!

Hahah why do people think I am making this stuff up?? is it because of that troller guy someone mentioned? Anyways I will be going onboard her sometime in the next few days if someone following this thread that lives in south florida would like to come along for a peek let me know then they can verify this is not a disney movie lol We will be taking her out for a quick run around the canals, she i docked behind pier 66...
Anyways, let me know if any club seray members would like to come along and take a peak at this 54 :)

Alright well since everyone is so skeptical about all this I will just shut up for now. Looks like I will be able to get it on a may 20th sailing to Australia, when i get there will just get together for a day on the water with Ozzie i-v and he can confirm that i am not making this stuff up and we can go from there. So im out until it arrives in Australia in June, dont want to have to keep confirming what im saying here. So chat to you guys in June once i have the yacht home and can have someone confirm it. You all must of had some real problems with people and far fetched stories before to all be so skeptical, i can see where you are all coming from i would prob think its bull**** too if i was reading it.. its cool ...will wait until i have it confirmed before i post anymore.
Oh and Ozzie thanks so much for the tips on the gas removal from the fridge and fire extinguishing system, i did not know that and you saved me from getting into some trouble there :)

Post some pics.
