What engine is in Westerbeke 4.0BCG genset?

Points last at least a year, but starting, running , and economy will improve with electronic ignition. You don't have to worry about dwell and point gap settings, you can use a readily available coil, spark plugs last much longer, etc. Lots of pluses and not any minuses.
 
try what i did type in your dist model into ebay. but switch location, search ebay of Japan and see what comes up. you might be able to purchase a new one
