I wanted to share my helm remodel. I purchased the boat last year and it all started with the engine controls. I didn't like the dual controls that all the 340 DAs have so I switched them to single Teleflex controls on the right. I had Technografic make a plate to cover the hole in the dash to the left of the wheel. That worked great all year. Much easier to maneuver in tight spaces and you don't have to worry about slamming the gears due to high engine RPMs.
Then last fall I purchased a Raymarine E95 MFD and 18" radome. So I had Technografics make up a new panel where the old C80 was to fit the E95. I also purchased an i70 display and removed the speedo and put that in its place. IT is networked to the e95 so I can display speed, SOG, COG, DTW... Much more useful information than the speedo. I also purchased the module that converts the smartcraft data into NMEA2000 so I can display some engine and vessle data on the e95 and the i70 displays. I haven't taken the time to learn the new units yet so I am not sure how much info I can get rom the smartcraft yet.
The oval clarion stereo remote display was fading and I wanted to get a new VHF with DSC (Icom M424) so I moved the stereo remote to the blank panel where the engine controls used ot be to the left of the wheel and had Technografic make a panel to house the new VHF and cover the large hole that was left form the old Raymarine VHF and the smaller ole below from the old Clarion stereo remote.
