Caution!!!!!!-> before considering upgrading power make sure everything else in drivetrain is capable IE I would NOT put a 260HP MPI on an ALPHA outdrive
Thats what my research has proved az well. About 300hp max. If my,350 puts out 260hp in sure your stroker should be over 300hp.There are several ways to increase the performance of your boat and stay with a small block GM motor. The real problem is the Alpha drive. I understand that 300hp is about the limit for that drive. I'm concerned for that reason with my Cobalt. The motor is a GM 383 "Stroker" motor originally built about 12 years ago. The horsepower is unknown and I am going to have to be cautious applying power.
Without changing the drive to a Bravo1 I think you are limited to something about 300hp or lower if you stay with the small block.
