I noticed I had been taking on a bit of water lately after spending the day on the water.
I found that the garboard drain was leaking around the flange. Removed the screws which were not very tight and removed the drain.
It's been three days and there is still moisture coming from around the...
That's a old impeller fin I found in the bilge. Must have dislodged when I backflushed the system or it may have been in the bilge but I never noticed it. I just threw it in there when I was cleaning up and didn't notice it was still in there when I took the picture.
I thought oil lines passed...
I didn't have a great day on Friday, I overheated at the boat launch while tied up and idling. Having just fed the parking machine with $20 didn't help things either:smt001
Managed to get it back on the trailer without engine power and home we went.
Saturday morning I pulled the impeller for the...
I was able to get the water flowing today, not exactly sure what my problem was but could very well have been a combination of a drained block that needed more time to fill than I was giving it along with muffs that don't seal all that good.
These are the muffs I'm using...
I don't see any through hull water intake so I assume its drawing in through the outdrive.
I used RV type coolant during the winter.
I didn't notice a big difference in the amount of water leaking past the muffs when it started up but I will have to watch that next time.
The muffs do cover...
First time for me using muffs on this new to me inboard. The coolant was just drained so the system is empty. I have the outdrive all the way down, hose faucet turned about half way to fully opened, muffs are the two sided rectangular type with water going to both sides. I read that some bravo's...
The boat/trailer was sold as a package so I don't have a value for the trailer alone. The price they are offering me to buy back just the trailer is lower than similar models I have found online. But mostly I'm p*ssed about this whole ordeal and want them to compensate me. I was not expecting to...
I ended up buying the 2009 Shoreland'r (5800 lbs capacity that had a 2009 230 Sea-Ray on it) from a local Sea-Ray dealer. It's never been registered and was only used as a yard trailer so it will come with a one year warranty and they will go over it and inspect it first. Price was under half of...
Thanks for all the replies
The dealer I purchased the boat/trailer from in the fall used an under-rated trailer, they had it listed as a 5000 lbs capacity on paper, the plate information off the trailer could no longer be read. When I contacted EZ Loader to buy replacement parts I gave them the...
Thanks guys!
When I talked to the salesman over the phone he said they could set the new trailer up for a charge but I suppose this could be negotiated.
My problem is that my existing trailer has a broken roller support so I need some way to temporarily place something between the support and...
I'm looking for a replacement trailer for my 91 225BR. I was using an EZ Loader roller trailer for a short time but I need to replace it.
I found a 2009 Shoreland'r SRV58TBB (bunk) at a boat dealer which I understand is made for the SeaRay. He says it came in with a SR 230 Select on it and the...
I'm not sure how old they are, I will have to look for the date code next time I'm at the storage yard. The manual does call for 550 CCA batteries and I will go bigger if they need replacing.
Seems like the only year that they made the 225BR was in 91. The only thing that's in my owners manual...
Very good info posted there, thanks
The boat came with the original manuals but there wasn't any additional wiring diagrams included. Were they just supplied on loose paper?
I didn't know this but I do remember seeing some stainless screws in the floor around that location.
