Finally got the hatch open. Yippee! But the pin was gone. I guess I could have try to winch it up after all but you can't see very well when the hatch is closed especially when you don't know what your looking for.. I am going to yank the actuator and plug it in on the bench to see if it works...

Thanks Jaybeaux, I replaced the latch on the door with a non magnetic version because it was old and dilapidated. I probably need to get the magnetic version and hopefully my switches will work once again.
