Can someone share with me the part number for the correct vacuum pressure sensors that are used in our vacuflush systems?

My wife would like to have a hydraulic swim platform, so here we go.... Did anybody out there replace the stationary swim platform with a hydraulic swim platform?

Can't offer any help, but I'm real interested to hear how this work's out with the gas engines especially if you plan to put a dink or a p.w.c. on there when traveling.

We did not, but there is a 400 DB local to us that has a hydraulic platform. It's quite nice and is actually higher when it is fully raised than the original fixed platform by a few inches. I've never seen him carry anything on it and have never had the opportunity to talk to him about it, have seen it parked at waterfront venues with no one around.

Gas engine 400DB's are NOT stern heavy. I try to keep my fuel and water full always just to keep it level.

Also, I wonder how many 2004's were built.

Yours is about 2000 pounds less stern heavy than mine. :)
Published weight of a Cummins 6CTA 8.3 - 1550 lbs +/-
Mercruiser 8.2 L - 507 lbs +/-
I'd like to know how many 2004's also. I was told Sea Ray doesn't keep track of that...really?
Maybe they just didn't feel like looking it up and getting back to me. That said, they were certainly very helpful in other things I requested of them.
I think it's all fuzzy numbers anyway. My HIN last four is F304, meaning it was built, at least the hull bottom cast, in June of '03. I know it was sold to the guy I bought it from new in February '04. First hit the water as his boat in April '04. Since I've owned it or was looking for one (owned it 6 years, looked for one about 18 months before that) I've seen one other 2004. It was in Massachusetts. I don't know what month of the year they say "OK, from now on everyone we make we will call the next model year", but in the case of the 400 DB, it's apparently at least June.

And it's not May. I'm E101, built in May '01 and designated an '01. But I knew I was close because I have several features on my boat that weren't introduced until the 02 model year. And my buddies with earlier produced 01 models don't have those features.

Being the optimist that I am, I’m going to conclude that since no one answered that no one has had to replace these switches. Typical process for correcting eternally running vacuflush appears to be duckbills, bellows and o-rings, pressure sensor/switch. Here’s hoping the bellows and o- rings do the job!

Sorry scooper, just haven’t had the privilege to work on those things. Just finishing up a kitchen remodel at home, then I’m going to replace the hose runs. That will be the first sanitary system work since replacing duck bills in our 330. Keep us posted though, I’m keeping notes for the inevitable.

Don't have any help as to your original question about the correct part number. But to aid in your search, it's not a
"pressure sensor/switch", it's a vacuum switch. Pressure is the opposite of vacuum.

I had these replaced on my boat last summer. The symptom was just the opposite though - the pump would not turn on to create a vacuum. The tech tested functionality by jumping the terminals on the switch, which caused the pump to begin running. I am not sure of the part number though.

So noted! Thanks!

So I did a little more sleuthing yesterday afternoon and this morning, starting with a phone call to Sea Ray (gasp... imagine that... a PHONE CALL instead of the Internet? I know, it totally went against my nature, LOL), I got the part number for the Vacuflush pump/generator that was installed in my boat. Sea Ray bought the whole assembly from Sealand, so they couldn't tell me the switch p/n, just the p/n of the entire assembly. It was 317-760012.

After Googling that number for a while (and coming up empty) I called Dometic/Sealand. Yep, two phone calls, for those counting at home. The nice lady in Customer Service identified that p/n as a VG12 assembly. She then told me the switch I'm after is p/n 385-310540. Score! Glad I called, that was NOT the part number I was getting ready to buy, just to have one on-hand.

I double-checked her info by looking up the drawing for the VG12 assembly. The Dometic site calls it the VG2 series, but here it is: https://www.marinesan.com/VG12-24-vacuum-generator-vacuflush-s/182.htm

Item #13 is what I'm after and that's p/n 385-310540. Confirmed.

I found it on Amazon, as a Prime deal, but even with free Prime shipping it was a couple dollars MORE than buying it from Marine Sanitation & Supply (www.marinesan.com). They offered free shipping for orders over $75, which is Priority Mail, so it's 2-3 days. Even with UPS 2 Day Ground at $9, they still beat Amazon. Add in the fact that there's no tax from MS&S, but Amazon does have to charge tax, and MS&S is the obvious choice. It pays to shop around! Plus, I feel I should patronize them, since I made use of their on-line drawings and resources, which were NOT cheap to get on line for us. Anyway, I'm ordering just one of these, since I'm not convinced the switch is the problem at all. It won't hurt to have in on-hand, though. The bellows and O-rings arrive today. Sunday should be a fun day!

We completely overhauled a fellow 400DB owners vacuflush that wouldnt hold pressure, last year. First, the pump burned out as it ran constantly when he wasn't on the boat for a long stretch. After replacing the pump, we changed the bowl seal. Didn't fix it. Then we changed the duckbills. Didn't fix it. Then we changed the bellows. Didn't fix it. Then we replaced the hose insert collar on top of the tank. Didn't fix it. Then we ran new hose from toilet to vacuum generator. Didn't fix it. Then we bought a pressure guage from Sealand and isolated that the leak was before the toilet hose (gee, I guess we should have done that first). Then we replace the flush valve assembly. That fixed it.

Moral of the story. It's almost never the pressure switch. And buy one of those pressure guage testers. They are great to have around. We figure we spent 50% more in replace parts that the cost of a complete new unit. Ha!

Does anyone know how the antennae cable for the master berth is routed? I am thinking about replacing it with an HDMI cable to connect to my entertainment system in the salon.

Hey Bill, do you mean vacuum gauge? They can be found just about anywhere. Or are you actually pressurizing the system to check for leaks? Shopping and learning, thanks.
