What should I have the shop inspect/replace before I go out the first time? Just bought this from my brother in laws dad.

121 hours. Has not been ran on water since 2016 summer. Freshwater only. Used about 10 hours a year.

Thanks so much!

You'll probably want to replace the impeller. Remove the gas and add a fresh tank. Replace the fuel filter. Replace the outdrive fluid and change the engine oil and filter..........then have fun!

edit: check the bellows between the outdrive and the bell housing to make sure there are no cracks, splittings or holes. If so, have those replaced - and if those are being replaced, have a new gimbal bearing installed. Check the serpentine belt.

What about exhaust risers elbows and manifolds?

Welcome! You might want a fresh battery also! If there was any salt water use I would be concerned about the risers and manifolds. They will rust even if not in salt water - just not nearly so bad - so it might not be an bad idea split the risers from the manifolds and take a peak.

You should be fine, especially if it was fresh water only. They will probably last a lifetime. My boat was in saltwater for the 1st 300hrs of her life, and the risers and elbows, although not pretty (outside rust areas), are fine. You should have 'dry joint' risers anyway, which are less prone to issues.

Welcome fellow 220 Select owner. These are great family boats we love ours. Follow the maintenance advise above if nothing else to give you a starting point so you know where you are.

Enjoy

I just got this 205 220 Select, my 2nd Sea Ray. Looks like from your pic mine is the same color. I know the 5.0 MPI will be enough for mine, but I wish I had the 5.7.
