460 DA Owners Thread

How do you guys run fresh water (or banacle buster or whatever your favorite brand is) through your a/c lines to flesh them out? Do you have a procedure for doing this? If so, mind sharing what that procedure is please? can I use the groco flushcap and if so, am I looking for the 2 1/2” or another size? Thanks!
This is what I use.

You connect it directly to the feed and return lines on the ac unit

Tim, I flushed with fresh water from the manifold at the pump. Took a short piece of hose that would slip over the manifold pipe. Secured that with a hose clamp. On the other end a water hose fitting to connect to dockside water. The AC units discharge into the common drain system. I never figured out a way to recycle rydlime etc. from that. The only line that was ever a real problem though, was the forward AC discharge line. It goes into the common drain with a 90 degree ell. This was a choke point for growth. If in the future you ever have a reason to have the fridge out, you can replace that fitting with a straight one.

HI folks. One of the sides on windshield window that goes up appears to have moved off the track. Is it as simple as unbolting that one bolt and sliding it back in place?

How can I get the door track to be easier to open? WD-40? Is there something someone here recommends?

How do you remove the chocks on the hydraulic platform? Is it as easy as loosening the bolts and sliding down the track or is there something else that needs to happen?

Thank you so much for all your help thus far. I got the boat into my slip today.

I assume you’re talking about the vent window. The actuator just bolts to a mount on the glass itself. If you go up and undo the bolts you will see how it works and I’m sure you can get it back in working order. Careful using it while it’s not functioning correctly as you can crack the glass.

The door track: the track actually needs no lubricant. You most likely need to rebuild the door with new trucks, tracks, and new fuzzy seal as well as a hardware kit which is all available on flounder pounder marine. And be aware the top and bottom is different. So, for now rinse it well with water and blow it out with compressed air and it may help until you get all the parts. ( if you start this project without the parts you will be without a locking door so....

Chocks. Yes. Loosen the bolts and adjust away.

congrats on the new boat!

Thank you very much for all the answers! Love this place!

BTW, I loosened those bolts and tried moving and I have no idea if and when they were last moved. Maybe some WD-40 or PB Blaster to help persuade it?

The bolts on the glass? They should come right out. You can always disconnect the actuator itself from the inside

You need a bigger hammer.... (only kidding)
The chocks can be stubborn if not removed for years. Clean the track well and silicone lube wouldn't hurt. You've already removed the bolts as suggested, just tap the blocks back using a soft wood block.

No, sorry not the bolts on the glass. I have to figure out how to get up there and make sure it can hold my big body. :(

Jaws,
I have no idea when the last time they were removed. I’ll clean the track and lube it up, then, use some soft type of hammer with a block. thank you.

How do you connect it to the input and output lines of the a/c? Does it just connect on there? Also, how does that help clear the actual water lines from the pump to each individual a/c unit?
Ok, get some 5/8's hose and make your own set up. Disconnet the in and out going to each unit and connect the flush system. Fill the bucket 1/3 full of solution and let it run for 45 minutes. Dump it and do it again if you have never done this before. Then reconnect the lines and run it to get all the flush fluid out. As far as your feed and dischange lines, get some Bromine Spa tablets at Lowes and put a few of them in your strainer every couple months as needed. This will safely flush those lines and prevent growth.

Got it —- thanks. What I did in the meantime is cleaned the strainer and then put some barnacle buster in it. Fascinatingly enough, it has helped quite a bit. The salon prior to trying the barnacle buster wouldn’t get below 86*, it’s now getting in/around 73*. The forward statement would literally just shut itself down due to lack of water now it’s cooling to 70*.

I plan to flush with fresh water today if time permits and then followed up by doing that loop with barnacle buster.

thanks again for all this help. Truly appreciated.

Ok more questions.

on the Bose system, is there a way to connect up a USB to it? If so, how?

On the original stereo system, is there a way to connect up a USB to it?

Got the chocks off. 3 of them came off after some persuasion. the 4th one , I spent about an hour, trying to get it out. Wow.... what fun LOL.

I am not at the boat and lap top crashed so I dont have my note.

Is the the filter for our racors on the 460?
Racor 2040n-30 element assy - 2040n series

Thanks for the help.

Joint custody. Yes you are correct on the Racor filters.

Your best bet is a Bluetooth adapter. There are a million models but I use the bose SoundTouch wireless link. It works like a champ and does Bluetooth and WiFi.

as far as flushing the ac system. Concrete etch and prep is 15 bucks a gallon at Home Depot and is the same thing as barnacle buster. So go there and get a few gallons and send me a check on the mail for the difference. ;) totally kidding but do save yourself some cash.

the dash will hold you just fine. Lay down and you can reach it. Don’t stand on the sliding door.

Actually should use the 10 micron filters in the Racor

right. Where would I plug in the bluetooth? Is it in the back of the Bose or somewhere else?
